I want to sell it all

Any gear sell locally as far as intellectual property (website trademarks etc) unless they are well known, think like nationally or internationally, or have an obvious value like if you owned greatdj.com or something, they have very little value.

You could try and sell as a business you might get lucky and move everything at once

Being that you're a single op, like myself... the brand itself and company have no value... as the brand essentially is you. Your websute url is interesting though, and there may be some value in it.

Outside of the url's potential value... the remaining value is solely in your gear. Look to facebook, ebay, instagram, etc for selling. Local buyers will be best due to shipping of heavier items.

Equipment and the website isn’t really worth what you think it might be worth. If you try selling everything as one, if you find somebody to buy it you’ll only be getting a few cents on the dollar. Over the years when I added additional systems I found it was much easier and cost-effective to buy the equipment new and get exactly what I wanted.

Now if you can find someone just starting out you may be able to sell them the business to them but since people just starting out don’t have much money you will have to work out financing directly with them. I have heard of this being done but it does have its risk. In one case the seller stayed on for a limited time helping with training & the change over.

I have decided that I am done. I want to sell it all - everything - including website, etc.

How do you suggest I go about this?

Thanks!

Your bio says you have been a DJ since 1987. 35 Years! That is longer than 99% last! I'm 22 years in (27 years in this month if you count my very first DJ gig with my Dad at 13 years old). Don't know if I'll make it another 13 years in this business, but I'll go as long as I still have interest, the money is worth it, my health is good, and I can tolerate the clients/planners/people in general!

One of the DJs I know that stopped deejaying last year just finally sold his entire sound system. He said he had it posted on facebook market place for months. A lot of people wanted him to sell just one piece of equipment to them, but he wanted to sell it all to one person. He had a couple people bail on him, but finally had a guy make him an offer worth taking, and the guy picked it up from him 2 weeks ago. His DJ Controller, speakers, mixer...it was all less than 8 years old. If you have a lot of older gear, it's going to take longer to move.

Craigslist might be useful, but far less people actually browse for stuff on Craigslist today compared to 10 years ago.

Thanks brother. Truth is that the last four years I have done very little. So, yeah, 35 years, but really only about 30.5 or so.
