I'm Don. I have been DJing and KJing for about 20 years. More of a part time retirement job than anything else. Normally I have about 5-6 DJ' working for or me as I have had jobs at multiple bars. I also have done many wedding receptions, parties etc. I have also made Karaoke books for many on the KJ's in Minnesota and a few other states. Since Covid has reduced the number of jobs I have I am now down to 2-3 DJ's. I have used Sax & Dotty, Show Presenter for a number of years and like both the old and new versions. Although some of my DJ's use other software for DJ purposes I prefer Winamp as I understand it quite well. Recently I installed the new Show Presenter program on a couple of laptops and have been having a problem I thought someone here could help me with. When entering a song name the apostrophe will not populate. It works in all other circumstances such as you tube etc. Any thoughts anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome aboard!!!!!

Welcome Don. If you pose the same question in the digital DJ's section it may get more noticed than it will in this thread. Here's a link

Hello one and all

Ive been a internet radio presenter for over 25 years and thoroughly enjoy it.My genres of music are anything from Reggae,Soul,Rare Grooves to Pop,Disco Funk ect depending on what ever station im on.Im still looking for that predominantly Reggae station mind as thats my favorite genre having grown up on it.

Hey Chris thanks for joining and posting. Most of us here are mobile DJ's but there's a few radio guys too, myself included, and a few who have dabbled in internet radio. feel free to share your experience jump right in. This place is like a candy bar lots of good stuff with a few nuts ;)

Thanks for the add, I play music about twice a year for Mardi Gras on a float. We inherited the speaker’s and amps from a previous rider. Looking to have it sound better and make sure I am hooked up correctly. Look forward to the feedback from some professionals.

I know this is a forum - but because a bunch of us have been here a long time, we like to know who we're talking to .. so if you have not yet, please take a moment to introduce yourself.
Hi All
I am not a DJ. I got here looking for free software to organize my Karaoke CD's. A bit on me I organized a karaoke program for a Senior citizen group over ten years ago. Been singing every since once a week till the virus hit. Our group of ten or more people get together and at time's we get a small audience. I had a program to create a song book but I can no longer find it and it's getting tiresome reading the labels as they are printed in such small type. At over 80 a bit of a problem. As each of have our own CD's ( Most of us have 40 to 50 CD"S )I would be using the program to make book. Thus the reason why I am looking for free program, as I can't justify the expense of a program. Any Help would be appreciated. If it is "OK" by you all I would like to drop by occasionally just to keep up with what going on in the world of Karaoke Again Thanks and have a great Sing!

Hello, my name is Kristen and I'm a beginner learning from my fiance I wanted to reach out to the community in hopes of connecting with anyone who shares a passion for music and DJing and could maybe help me, my fiance is so talented and is insanely passionate about making music and sharing his talents with the world. He loves being a DJ, and recently someone he trusted broke into his home and stole his equipment while he knew he was away, this breaks his heart everyday and my fiance is such a giving selfless man who once saw a girl he never knew get jumped and her purse and shoes stolen and carried this girl on his back for blocks to a salvation army to buy her shoes, then to a safe place and made sure she had a warm meal, he hasn't been able to save up for new equipment cause he's been supporting me thru some health issues and now he's helping his dad whose going thru some serious health issues and no matter how hard he tries to get his equipment , he always puts everyone else first and I was wondering, hoping that if I reached out to fellow DJs who I understand his passion, maybe someone can help me out with anyone who has equipment they are giving away or records they can spare or donate anything to help this amazing man get his dreams back. If you can help or know anyone who can please let me know. Thank you

Welcome to our little spot on the web Kristen. We are more than happy to have a new member that shares our passion. We are sorry to hear of stuff being stolen - but if he's been at this for awhile, with some luck, he'll land on his feet soon enough.
