I have a pair of V-Moda Crossfade headphones but considering getting a little better-built pair since this is such an important piece of equipment for us.
Considering the PioneerDJ HDJ-X10-S Professional and wondering if these are going to be the industry standard.
What is everyone using now days.

I use Sony MDR-7506 and Pioneer HDJ-2000. IMHO, the Sony's sound a little better, but the Pioneer's are more "rebuildable" - replaceable cord, etc..

I don't use them on the road but I have a pair of Sennheiser HD280. They are very accurate and nice sounding. Moderately priced too

I also have a pair of HD201 that I use in my studio. They sound nice and are very light

I don't bring out anything expensive for mobile DJ use. ...That is because I purchased a pair of expensive $130 head phones one time, and they broke 10 months later.

I have a pair of Skull Candy $10 head phones I use. Been in my bag for 5 years or so, and still work fine.

If I didn't care, and had plenty of money to spend on head phones, I would be using the Bose noise cancelling ones.

It is sometimes funny how different many of us DJ. I have no playlist, try to read the floor, constantly pre-listening for the next best song, setting up cues and loops, might beat match, etc.. This is not a judgement call, simply an observation. Anyway, because of this, I'm constantly using my headphones (hooked to a controller).

With all the money I've spent, another $100 for good sounding/good fitting headphones is a drop in the bucket - and besides, life's to dam short.

A nice upgrade to the Sony's stock ear cushions - which I wore out - were "Wicked Cushions" -

the first pair of pro headphones i ever used back in 91was a set of Fostex T-20's ... i wore them exclusively my whole career... after a short retirement i tried to rebuy a pair and only found its new counterpart....which seems a tad inferior to the classic ones... Official FOSTEX RP stereo headphones T20RPmk3n EMS SPEEDPOST NEW 4995090307084 | eBay - (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-FOSTEX-RP-stereo-headphones-T20RPmk3n-EMS-SPEEDPOST-NEW/163139904230?epid=1069623532&hash=item25fbe562e6:g:eGYAAOSwXSRbQcaz:rk:32:pf:0)

but they do the job...

i also carry a pair of these as a back up....

I also use the Sennheiser HD280PRO .. everything I need.

Sennheiser HD558’s with my Large System, and Audio Technica ATH-M50’s with my Small System. The price difference doesn’t seem to make much difference, as the less expensive Audio Technica’s sound just as good as the Sennheisers.

Reviving this thread since it already existed. Facebook reminded me today that my headphones have now been in use for the last 6 years:Screen Shot 2021-10-17 at 11.47.53 AM.png

I'm noticing some wear on padding, but nothing that would force a replacement by any means.

They weren't cheap, but my "buy once, cry once" theory remains. I've probably done close to 100 weddings with this set (I have a different pair in my backpack for club gigs).

I like small headphones and have found the newer Pioneer entry-level DJ Cue Headphones to be terrific, at only $70. A lot of people I know have switched to really good iems, but I still prefer real headphones.

I get really loud on my headphones, and as such have found the best ones for me are the technics rp-dh1200. Have 2 pairs... one since 2008, which outside of a cracked plastic piece works perfectly and is now my backup. I have a newer one since 2015 which has been perfect. Only had to replace the ear cups for $20/pair once due to cracking.

Those Technics were my go-to ones for several years. Love them! I didn't think they still made them...

100% agreed - but good luck finding any more - I had to switch to the Shure SRH750DJ sets.

That Sure looks nice though. How do you compare it to the Technics?

Has anyone tried the new replacement Technios--https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1523811-REG/technics_eah_dj1200_dj_headphones_with_multi_functionality.html

seems that one of the reviewers on the link you sent was a user of the original and said they're pretty equal in terms of quality, but newer, more lightweight materials.
