I don't understand what your real point is. You can decorate the entire stage, but what does that really have to do with the band or DJ?
Are you suggesting that if you didn't have a front board people would stop hiring you to DJ? If so, you've misidentified your true business.

I have gigs where all I do is the decor which might also include building or providing the booth for some other DJ. It's a different job - neither one depends on the other. There's no mutual exclusion - a DJ can have a front board and still be mediocre. :)
No real point I was just referencing how you said musicians don’t hide behind anything, but there are ways to dress that up too was all.

That's just a throw-back to the 30's and 40's big bands.

That's just a throw-back to the 30's and 40's big bands. It's there so they can keep the attachments for the instruments, their personal care products, and water out of sight. It's pretty common with an orchestra of any kind.that requires seated wind or string players.
Where are pictures of your setup as it has been asked before. Why haven't you shown us pictures of your setup instead of putting down others for how they run their business?
