Hi gang,

I have a question in regards to the myDMXgo.

I currently have 4x Beamz panther25s on a T lighting stand, in the myDMXgo their are 2 profiles for this particular fixture - one is panther25 and the other is panther25 spot.

I have used the spot profile and almost everything works as it should, but I have very limited functionality in the effects side of the app wheel , and no gobo selections which makes sense as it's a profile for spots.

So I loaded a new project with the Panthers25 profile. This has 2 channel modes 9 and 11 , I have set my fixtures up in both modes and corrected the starting addresses but still have no use of the gobos and little functionality on the FX wheel on the app ( the one on the right about the colour settings).

What am I overlooking or missing, is the Panthers25 profile on the myDMXgo library wrong.

It's great that I have all 4 working as spots , but I'd love full functionality of my fixtures.

And advice or information , suggestions would be great.

Thanks for your time

Brett

Looking at the profile, it appears to be partially broken. MyDMX Go requires the channels to be named in specific ways .. for example, the Panther 25 profile uses "Gobo" and "Color", but mDG requires them to be called "Gobo Wheel" and "Color Wheel" to be controllable in the UI (the manual faders would still work on the fixture tab). The library of profiles has been built up by Nicolaudie for years and not specifically for this app, so it appears it just isn't in a form usable for mDG. The good news is a profile is fairly easy to create .. the downside is someone needs to create it.

I can give it a try, but the manual I found isn't very specific on colors or gobos .. it shows a few colors broken out .. then shows "colours 6+" .. whatever that means. Gobo is the same .. shows gobo selectin using values 000-124, but doesn't actually show what they are or where the breaks are between them .. needed to create a visual picker on the UI.

If you can find a more indepth manual, or have a manual means of controlling those 2 channels to get the breakdowns, I'll have a go at helping make a proper profile (I've made a few).

I was going by .. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1046312/Beamz-Panther-25-Led-Spot.html?page=23#manual ... not sure if it's the correct one.

Hi Steve , thanks for your reply the link you have provided is indeed the fixture I'm working with.
So to make a profile that works properly, we'd need to find a full mapping of the DMX color values (or stick with the half dozen listed) .. and figure out the channel breakdown of the gobos (say 0-15 is gobo 1, 16-30 is gobo 2, etc.) pictures of the actual gobos in each range will make it easier to pick from the UI (the profile builder has many images that should be close).

You should be able to use the faders on the fixture page once you load any profile that has a matching set of channels. Just need to nudge each of those 2 faders up its length and write down what happens at each transition point.

Hi Steve , I have been in contact with the manufacturer and he had given me the following information , unfortunately he has now pictures of the gobo wheel, I hope this information is sufficient enough for you to make a profile of this fixture.

Thanking you in advance.

Brett

I really appreciate your time . Thank you so much.

Should be .. I'll take a deeper look tonight. If you can find out what Gobo 1 - 7 look like, I can attach a similar image. Otherwise it'll just be 1-7 ...

Won't be able to use all colors as 9+ seem to be half colors which mDG doesn't understand.

OK .. made a profile, not sure of your email address, but I used [email protected] .. if that is the one you use with the Light Cloud, you should find it in your personal profiles (select the little person icon next to the globe in the lower left corner of the fixture tab). If it's not correct, PM me the right one ...

Thank you , very very much appreciated .

I missed that www ... I shared it to this one so you should be good to go ..
Hi Steve , I've just received the profile on my end , I'll load it all in now and give it a run and see how we go.

Once again I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for your work and the effort and assistance you have put in. It's very very much appreciated , thanks for your time and help, I'll let you know how I go.

We help where we can .. if you get it going and can take photos of the gobo 1 - 7, I can substitute images in for the generic 1-7. Also, I didn't add gobo rotation, but can do that easily as well .. see if there are any other broken parts.

I used the 11 channel profile, so all the faders are available manually in the fixture tab. If you are running out of address space, I can easily make a 9 channel version.

Hi Steve , it's working amazingly , well done, the 11 channel mode is fine , I will get you the images of the gobos , gobo rotation would be great if it's not to much trouble.

I'll send the images to you as soon as possible .

Thank you

Open is as it should be

1. Also seems to be open as well

2 and 3 .Tri circle

4 and 5 oval dot pattern

6 and 7 circle dot pattern

So there seems to be some doubling up in it.IMG20210407123958.jpgIMG20210407124042.jpgIMG20210407124236.jpg

The BeamZ website shows the following patterns ... maybe the gobo breakdown info you received was off. Might need to go to the manual fader for the gobo and slide it slowly and see where the changeover points are ... seems there are some missing shapes ..

Definitely will do that , looks like some very cool gobos are missing.
Hey steve ,

Ihope this is correct and you understand it,. I loaded up the fixtures on myDMXgo and went into the fixtures settings and went slowly through the values to find out the change over values and this is what I've come up with , hope this helps , and hopefully you can understand my terms for the gobo patterns

0-15 Open
16- 31 Trip outer circle
32-46 oval flower
47-63 circle flower
64-78 Tetris rectangular shapes
79-93 random bubbles
94-109 boomerang arch's
110 -124 rectangular strips
From this point on it travels back down the list through the gobos with the addition of a small shaking motion (wobble) with increasing intensity as the value gets higher
125- 140 rectangular strips shake
141-156 boomerang arch's shake
157-171 random bubbles shake
172-187 Tetris rectangular shapes shake
188-203 circle flower shakes
204-218 oval flower shakes
219-234 Tri outer circle shakes
235-249 open shakes

After this the entire gobo wheel spins with increasing intensity back and forth
250- 255 - Gobo wheel spins

Hope this helps.

If the image I posted of the gobos would be labeled 1-4 on the top row and 5-8 on the bottom (I think there is a duplicate there) .. can you match that "number" to your descriptions above.

OK .. delete the profile and reload it .. I used as close an image as I could find. Also added the gobo rotation which should be the ring aroud the gobo selection button
