Since you said that I told them it's what they offer. I normally don't do that. I'm just grateful someone mentioned my name.

A few years back another DJ that's very famous did their event and someone there said they need to give me a shot. I thank them for the compliment , yet I'm not in competition with any other DJ. I do what I do and that's it. Just haven't had a time to do a test run yet. I will get it done next week.

Mixy, Have you ever spoken at a speaker
jam?? I would love to hear your lead.
Gratitud is giving back.

I never met a DJ who gets so many compliments, recommendations and referrals....
yet hardly ever has a decent, well-paying gig.

How much will you make?

Nothing with no expenses. You will need to by $5000 worth of gear to impress the people and hope to get more free work.. Oh and pay the partner

No pat on the back for me.
I have hobbies Day dreams don't pay the bills

Sir at least you're funny. Now here's the deal. When I do those speaker jam dancers I get paid. I have to get paid. Now the thing is with an activities committee they don't have a lot to spend. The one I'm a member of their seed money/budget to put on a function is $700. So out of that money they have to pay for a place to have the event, pay the DJ if there’s going to be a dance and get supplies for the event. Now when the event is over they have to make sure they make the seed money back. Anything above that usually goes to area to help them out.

So when I do them I get $250-300. That's fine with me because I'm a member and I keep myself busy when I don't have a gig to do. Besides that's my way of paying God back for his grace and mercy because the last time I used he could have let me die.

I hear ya man I did Jams and roundups at full price for 10 years or so I know what it's all about. I did one in particular it was a 4 province round up somewhere between 1500 and 2000 people in two rooms one youth one adult although they all went back and forth. I had me in one room and another DJ in the other room down the hall and I made about $300 an hour for that one.

I don't know how your crew rent a hall and provide food for $400 bucks though and the way you operate you aren't making anything at $300 but the idea is to give back and I honestly mean this Good for you

The halls they get cost $200 for the whole day and they buy food that they sell. Steve their aim is get the money they spend back to $700 to used over and over again. They look for friendly places that know who we are and just want to help us with our primary purpose.

I just had to find out there's proper settings you have to use to DJ with a controller. You have to set it up the controller you're using and a couple of other settings to get the sound right. I looked it up on YouTube and will get it together tomorrow for Saturdays meeting at 11am so they get a taste so they can hear me and I hear them. Never too old to learn something new.

I got an emergency and hope someone can quickly help me. I was trying to get things setup to use my controller with Zoom and I didn't see where it said setting at the top right corner. If it's not there do I go next to the mute button and click on there to go into settings?

Settings are on the bottom ... Audio on the pull up from the microphone and video from the pull up from the camera icon.
