The JBL is heavier, but only by 1.9 pounds. (17.63).Turns out I was wrong(i know, I'm just as shocked as you!)
S1 pro is 15.7 lbs.
I've found weight makes a huge difference.
Needing to move these quickly in some instances, the lower weight is great. I was using compacts before that(22lbs)....plus power source.
Direct sun and possible rain are factors. Being able to bring it out just before ceremony if needed is nice. getting everything put away quickly is nice too.

It has 4 inputs, instead of a mediocre 3 .. that's gotta add some weight ..HUGE difference
Yes, they need to have 4 inputs, so when 2 break, it's still usableIt has 4 inputs, instead of a mediocre 3 .. that's gotta add some weight ..
I've heard both the JBL EON One Compact and the Bose S1 Pro, both used in professional circumstances...either would be a stellar choice.
The JBL, to my sound receptors, was more full, more complete during music reproducition but the Bose was also crystal clear and was livelier during microphone useage.
Yea .. I forgot that too, as I have one as well. A bit large though .. a 12" that's close to some 15" in size. Built-in mic is nice .. seems to work well .. but as you mentioned, it's been discontinued.Any of the above mentioned are good I personally use an Alto Transport 12. They are 35 Lbs or so but on wheels with a handle. For vocals they are very clear and for music they sound good at low and mid volume. I do think they are legacy now but there's a ton of them around for resale
Bose S1 or JBL Compact .. I'm not a fan of the other options out there .. Samson, Galaxy, Behringer. Mackie Freeplay.Definitely wanting a simpler, lighter, option.
+1Yes.
