What software are you using to DJ with?

I'm also still on Serato.

I have enough of an ecosystem built around Serato now that it would be tough to switch. 2 Serato based controllers, an S9... the place I (used to) play also has an S9 in house.

I would consider Rekordbox today if I weren't using SoundSwitch for my lights but I don't want to switch over to the Pioneer DMX system. And even though I like Pioneer gear and own a lot of it... I don't really want them to be a monopoly in the DJ business. I'd rather that they and Serato have to continue to work together.

I still use the Numark D2 Director...
which is just a dual CD player...so it doesn't use software.
(unless you count the Librarian management software)

I only use my lappy for cocktail/dinner music...
in which I use Zara Radio or Play It Live.

Serato but moving over to Prime with my new Denon controllers.
What Denon controllers do you use? I use VDJ 8 and I love it. I was using 7 but switched to 8. Either one is fine with me but I believe 7 had update issues. I don't have any cons.

I'm seriously thinking about doing a bash with just records or at least mostly records. Rent a hall sell tickets and just do it a 70's 80's thing. I'll have to take those old records off the shelf ;)

I have thousands of mint or near mint 45's from the decades, 50's to 2004 and Country. I play "theme" nights, sock-hops, oldies nights (50-60-70). This day and age it seems that 80's have overtaken the "oldies" of the 50's & 60's. I don't play CDs at those type functions. If any of you are familiar with the 45 cardboard storage and transport boxes, you know that one box will hold 250 single. I have quite a few double-sided 45's (re-issue) where both sides are Top-40 hits. For example, if I were doing a 80's only vinyl party, I would need an 8-foot table behind me with 5 boxes of 80's and 2 boxes of 80's Country. Keep in mind all 45's are "A" quality.

Needless-to-say, as I get older less and less do I lug and tug 45 boxes and turntables.

When I counted back in the early 90's I was up over 10,000 45's most in good condition maybe a few mint. I have somewhere near 1500 Albums too. I don't look forward to the lugging either but for one night I may do it :) My main reasoning is to let my daughter see what it used to be like and how easy it is now in comparison.

I have a friend that has at last count a little over 90,000 45's. He has 3 rooms full of shelves and everything categorized and he's still buying. He's around 67 now and his kids have no interest the sad part is they will probably all get dumped after he's gone

I help a friend do a vinyl disco night .. used to be once a month .. none since this past March. He has a couple hundred LPs .. many are extended play club versions of songs. I spun a little vinyl back during college party nights, but that was a long time ago .. no intention of reliving that on the road .. though I did buy a new TT for the man cave.

VDJ. Started with PCDJ and liked it but it crashed OFTEN - needs a high end video card to run stable.

VDJ 2021 on my win 20 lower end machine, 100% stable. Have done a little video work, not much, some recording, not much, and played with STEMS and kinda cool, but don't need that capability.

My win 7 laptop runs VDJ2020 I think...it's backup and runs lighting, used it for ceremonies.

At work I use Imedia touch. The on air software is pretty basic it comes in several modules for voicetracking, production, log tools etc

I think you've used that for years Mike whilst many here make changes on a whim...or are constantly re-building their rack...

Honestly, it was ALWAYS a matter of available funds.
As well as a desire for things to be consistent.

Sooner or later, they still stop making the type of controllers I use,
and I will have to UP the learning curve.
Which may or may not move up to somewhere close to 2015.
