I am in search of a decent super lightweight power amp to power a pair of Yamaha CZR 12’s, this is the next step in my passive system. Who’s got suggestions
I really want to trust peavey I had one of the early ipr amps only lasted a little over a year before it lost a channel
Guess its all a matter of opinion. The speakers the OP is using will be better served by amplifiers with a more robust, reliably rated power output, such as the QSC PLX3120 or Crown 4002 as opposed to the Peavey ipr 3000 and definitely the NU3000.
Those Yamaha cabinets are capable units, use 'em well.
Not opinion as much as compatibility.Guess its all a matter of opinion.
IMHO, ALL the current amp manufacturer's are guilty of B.S. ratings. The Peavey IPR 3000 will swing 50 volts across an 8 ohm load (actual true measurement), which is plenty for a speaker with an 800 watt "Program" rating. The speakers the OP is using will be better served by amplifiers with a more robust, reliably rated power output, such as the QSC PLX3120 or Crown 4002 as opposed to the Peavey ipr 3000 and definitely the NU3000.
