Not a fan. It totally takes the "compact" feature out of the equation.

I guess If you are taking gear on a plane, I just don't how many people are flying to do small events that a compact would be good for.

They show this .. not sure how they get there .. maybe by sliding the base forward .. or maybe the base sets in slightly forward of the lid edge.

The S1 pro does just about everything I used the compacts for. They had a good run, but it makes sense.
