I just had my phone automatically update. I have never used my phone to play music from for an event I'm doing. I use my tablet at events if I need to get a song to play I don't have. It takes a few minutes for my phone to update. I was wondering if anybody was doing an event and went to try to play a song and your phone updated?

This is why a phone is not a suitable option for playing music. Phones need updates. You maybe had yours on automatic updates or didn’t realize you set your phone to update now.

Mix,

Are you in the process of setting up right now?

Never close

As Jeff mentioned, airplane mode. I Can't imagine 2 computers and 2 iPads would fail, but if they did and my iPhone needed to be used, it would be on airplane mode.
My iPads also are one airplane mode unless they need to get a song. Then the tablet is returned to airplane mode.

Then there's the iPhones/iPad's ability to not let that happen. I'm assuming there's probably the ability in most Android phones as well.

Letting any device that you may be using during a gig to auto update would be considered user error.

My phone will download an update if it is connected to wifi, but will not reboot without asking during normal hours. It will auto reboot around 1-2AM.

So no, it has never done it during an event. And I also don't rely on it as a primary source of anything for my work. I'll use it as a hotspot to jump online as needed, or in a bad emergency I could play music from it. But it's generally way down my list of options.

Never had a phone or tablet automatically update without asking for permission to update first.. But like someone pointed out I have iPhones and iPads. I would assume android is the same way and requests confirmation before it updates. It would make absolutely no sense for anything to just update without asking for permission to update.

Mine is an Android (Google Pixel 4), it works the same way.

Before I read a single syllable of the first post, I'm gonna say, "No."

Still no.

I have 10pro. But doesn’t Windows 10 ask first, not just update in the of you using it?
First versions warned you, but there wasn't an easy way to prevent it from happening .. sometimes in the middle of things. Current versions allow you to pick times and/or delay update action.
