ANOTHER AUDIO-NEWBIE QUESTION

Mix really needs two .. one for the monitor engineer position .. got to do those festivals right !!
I got a Mackie 30 channel board from a DJ friend for $350. He threatened me if I sold it. We have it stil. He sold it because he went to a computerized board.

Don't be silly, this is perfect for DJs - and way better than the original Numark NS7. Better than the unoriginal NS 7 too.

You need one of these - and the price is right:

A&L GL2400

For that price you are tempting me and I sure DON'T need it LOL

You don't think this is too few of channels? Plus, you have to have that Bose base to power this thing, correct?
For weddings or other events I do, it's more than enough. Computer to USB, iPads to channels 5/6, mics in channels 1-4 as needed. I can assign my USB to whatever channel I want.

Power wise, my Bose system does power it. It's nice. I have a power cord so if I do use use it with a compact or something else, it's no problem. But the reality is I probably wouldn't buy it if I wasn't using the towers. It's great and portable, and would work with other units, but it's designed to work best with the towers.

Mix you might as well go for the gusto grab up one of these...You can use it podcasting too. Since you got your partner and his girlfriend and his mother it shouldn't be too much to handle

There are separate power supplies for the Tone-Match mixers.

Bose systems are considered "personal monitors" - meaning they are meant for solo or Duo performers or other small acts and presentations.
Beyond that yes, you would run out of inputs or mix buss' PDQ.

So Scott, are you not using a controller? I see you mentioned "computer to usb" on this? I have one of these too (though mine looks slightly different with only one cat5 power input). Is it possible to power this thing with some other chord/device that has a cat5 on one end a normal 3 prong plug on the other so as not to have to carry the base unit around just to use this small mixer?

Absolutely prefect advice.

Why whack off to Whoppie Goldberg when Halle Berry is just as imaginable?

I'll be expecting my monitor in the mail this one is now full of coffee ;)

For weddings, I typically don’t use a controller. When I do, I plug the controller into 5/6

This was probably true in 2004. However, Many bands discovered they work great for bands. I use the Ts4 as it provides me with enough inputs. If I was a band and needed more inputs, I could use a t8s that provides more inputs
