Have everything setup and ready to go and the first group of kids just walked in. It was supposed to be clear weather but I just got report that it's raining at my parent's house (10 miles away). Luckily, my DJ rig is under a porch but my photobooth is exposed (have plastic at the ready). I'm thrilled that MyDMXGo is actually working (so far). I have 9X18 cans strewn along the shop walls, all along the street. It's shooting against exposed brick so should look cool once the sun goes down. Here goes nothing.......

Is the Prom in the middle of the road?

Yes, that's the main street in town. It's actually a pretty cool setup. They're just now setting up the Senior Walk-out. MyDMXGo is still solid. Fingers crossed.

The prom turned out terrific. This is the first time these kids have seen each other in 3 months and they all showed up and ready to party. They used pipe&drape to cordon off a block and I put 9X18 uplighting fixtures against each brick column and on both sides of the street. I was positioned at one corner, under a balcony. The tables/chairs are to the left of this shot. For dance lighting, I used my mini t-bars, each loaded with Chauvet colorstrip mini and 2 Chauvet Intimidator 255 movers. MyDMXGo worked like a champ the entire night with ZERO problems. This is the first gig I've ever had with this interface that didn't have issues. BTW, I haven't even changed channels, it's still on the default channel. Photobooth was to my left, on the sidewalk. No issues with SocialBooth. Best Photobooth software I've ever had (thanks Taso).

I got to see several people that I grew up with. I ended up downloading maybe a dozen cuts that I didn't already have (special requests). I only wish they all were this smooth.

Looks like a successful and joyous celebration of their accomplishments. Congrats on your contribution.

Let's see that playlist and let us know which requests were most popular/best response?

Again, Kudos.

Looks like a very fun night. Can you give a list of the audio gear that you used for this event? I can't imagine what kind of audio Mix would show up with at an event like this. He brings 73 cabinets when he has 11 guests in the crowd.

Honestly, I didn't have enough rig for the gig, but it's all I currently have; 2 QSC K10s, 2 AltoTS215S subs. It was respectable but I had a few "turn it up" comments. If I were planning on doing more school/kid events, I'd move back up to bigger subs but this is my last prom account and I have no plans on chasing any more.

Were your speakers positioned in that corner with you?

If there was a rain threat, that makes sense. But spreading that sound out would have probably given a much wider coverage with that same rig. But school dances definitely like lots of bass.

Yes, they were, either side of my 4ft table. This was the only rain cover available so my equipment takes precedence over sound. We just barely dodged getting hammered and I already have a photobooth out in the open (with plastic over it). If I had been able to better place the speakers (so it didn't kill me on volume) I had plenty of headroom remaining. As it was, there was plenty of volume out on the street but I was pretty well maxed out on what I could stand.

...hit us up wit dat playlist, yo!

Okay, here it is. Senior walk-out didn't finish until 8:45p and the last kids left by 10p. The first half-dozen were what I picked to start out with then it was all on-the-fly requests after that. The last handful of songs were for the sponsors as they were cleaning up (they were dancing as well). Very short event but everyone seemed pleased with it. BTW, the surprise of the night was Backstreet Boys "I Want It That Way". Got that request a few times and just couldn't believe I wasn't being rick-rolled. They went nutz when it came on. Go figure.

<2hour prom...I'd have thought they were ready to go long!

Most of my other accounts in the past have been 3-4 hours (besides the walk-out). This one has always been short. First time I worked it they told me "the kids are only there for 20 minutes." They all want to go drink/party from what I've been told.
