I don't think the OP is actually a mobile DJ .. more like a bedroom hobbyist.I haven’t seen anybody using a desktop in almost 20 years. There were the some who built there systems in rack mount cases. But that was so long ago before laptop became affordable and powerful. By 2000 my Sony vaio laptop equaled my Sony Vaio desktop. But beside the weight & size issue. Laptops are made to be moved & desktops are not.
I would like to know what you think desktop can do that a laptop can’t in respect to DJing?
Just to let you know my laptop from 2007 handled video with VDJ although you had to limit the size the of track which preload. Likely a limitation of limited Ram on machine
Actually we are all “bedroom/house/home” DJs now. Unfortunately. I may have to pullout my small controller and practice after I finish updating my website.I don't think the OP is actually a mobile DJ .. more like a bedroom hobbyist.
No House for me .. ba dum tsshh .Actually we are all “bedroom/house/home” DJs now. Unfortunately. I may have to pullout my small controller and practice after I finish updating my website.
But now “feels much more faster” make sense.
I don't use a laptop because i find PC/computer is way better and also feels much more faster
I never said it looked bad - I said I doubt your customer 'sees' a difference.I think my setup looks fairly decent, using an iMac.

I know this. I just didn't feel like looking them up right then and there. Besides both are older laptops and didn't want to hear the flack even though both are working just fine. The model number is stamped right on your machines Mix. It's either on the top .. or the bottom. All ya gotta do is look and read. If you ever need help, this is one of the first things they ask. If you call Lenovo for help - and they ask you which model, and you answer Lenovo - then you're already making people frustrated.
I said it before. It's not about what you use but knowing how to use what you have. Now if it doesn't work or isn't working properly then it still won't matter. Some swear by a Mac. I have a super old Lenovo that is my main laptop and I don't see a need to change things right now. What I do is my best to not put it online. That's what I got my phone and PC for.iMac (all in one), I agree. Desktop, I do not. While you think you do not look like other dj's (because it's an iMac), I wonder how many customers feel the same way.
FLACK??? I don’t remember you ever getting flack over the AGE of your gear... Over the condition; YES! The age is not as important than the condition, and having a good risk mitigation plan. All gear fails eventually. All computers fail eventually. Older gear is more at risk, so you have to plan for the inevitable.I know this. I just didn't feel like looking them up right then and there. It's working fine now. The battery needs to be replaced. My partner was moving the laptop around crazy like that the plug would come out from the laptop. You just complained that it only woks when plugged in and you didn't have $15 to fix it.
Not taking advice from you... ever!
The DC Power Jack on an old laptop is one of the first things to wear out. The power supply connector falls out very easily because the port is loose and sloppy. It’s a cheap and easy fix, though. Battery replacements are not difficult to find either, but not always inexpensive, depending on availability. A model that sold massive quantities is going to be cheaper and easier to find than batteries for less popular brands/models.It's working fine now. The battery needs to be replaced.
