May sound like a dumb question but how are you guys adding additional edits to make cleaner versions? I have DAW software but what are you doing within the software to "bleep" something out?
While true that kids taste change quickly it is surprising how often they don't want the brand new stuff. The last high school dance I did, yes they wanted some brand new stuff, but they also requested stuff like I GOTTA FEELING and GET LOW and THE WOBBLE. Just because it might be ten or fifteen years old doesn't mean they don't want to hear it.That list will likely be stale by next month...song popularity is fleeting, like many things in the sites of contemporary yutes...

Honestly, it surprised me how much these kids wanted the older stuff. I came all prepared to play new music, had worked on mixes and they were requesting I Gotta Feeling and The Wobble. I was waiting for someone to come up and request The DougieTru dat...but not as common in many markets.
There were a bunch of explicit songs back in the day as well (see the last couple lines of the Rolling Stones - Start Me Up). It's not that difficult to use radio edits .. most pools have them .. and that works for almost all uses. Schools are a little stricter and it just makes sense to do a little due diligence if you provide services to them. You do not, so really not an issue for you. It's sad that it has come to this. Freedom of speech has become out of control. What happened to the time you didn't have to check if a song was a clean version or not? Just sad how things have changed.
Either I or this list is really out of the loop with what kids actually want to hear at an event. I went through that list and counted only 5-7 songs that I would actually play. Kids are not listening to mainstream stuff.
a church group? I mean it seems to have rankings and if its going up or down. I can't see a church group approving lizzo regardless of if its clean or not. This is just a list created by some church group i believe... atleast that was my assumption since it doesnt seem to follow the charts too closely
