Last time i posted about a new song it was THE GIT UP... and though no one at any of my events ever seemed to learn how to do it properly....it is still on every request sheet i get...

That being said... Steve's hit list post had an interesting listing on it....DJ KOOL - CHA CHA CHA.... So i got my grubby little hands on a copy... (thanks to a great guy! lolol)

I think its gonna be the next big one....It is far simpler than THE GIT UP...and has that DJ KOOL energy we know and love.

Here is the only two dance instruction videos ive seen so far...

The song is catchy but that instructional video could be better done. What sold people on The Git Up was the slick produced video and I also think because this was kind of a cross promotional year for rap and country, that worked in it's favor as well. It's also short. I'm not sure if a 6 minute line dance is going to be taking over.

yeah...honestly the song doesnt exist anywhere the public can even get at it yet....the only thing even on youtube is the instructional video... and even though thats Mr C himself teaching the video...its not good at all...

At any rate...i sent this out to some of my past clients who i know are big into line dances ...with teenage daughters ...and had them rate it....they went crazy for it... so... we will just have to wait and see...

Um, that Cha Cha Cha is just the Electric Slide with a half turn instead of a dip.
This kind of repetition gets old really fast. You're better off making up your own follow-along dances than doing the same routines over and over with only slight variation.

While it could be said that they face similar walls - it is not 'just the Electric Slide with a half turn instead of a dip'. The dances start out different - and progress different. The Electric Slide has 20 steps - this has 40 steps. This is like saying the Wobble is just the Electric Slide with a hip push. With that said, I agree that a better routine could make a better dance.

I'm starting to really like this song! Is it available to purchase?

Kool told me it'll be released in about a week. Stay tuned.

Honestly... i dont think the type of clientele who clamor for line dances are truly in need of a reinvention of the wheel with each line dance... ive seen people do the electric slide to 5 or 10 different songs just because they love to dance in a line with other people...its a phenomenon i dont enjoy ...or agree with... but certain people seem only motivated to dance if its in this manner... so i am there to facilitate that.

i think simplicity and energy is what this song has going for it... and thats GOLD in a general population scenario like a wedding reception.

i find the original cha cha slide the most monotonous of them all....simply because the beat is so dull...

This particular song has ten times the energy...and infuses the D.C. "Gogo" vibe with a line dance...and that is going to resonate simply because those genres (when done well) never seem to lose floor filling power and popularity.

It's been in my pool since 2/20 (radio edit). Some of the DJ versions followed a few days later.

LOL - it has only two steps. Repetition is not a new "step."

Most versions of the electric slide have up to 4 steps.
