May sound like a dumb question but how are you guys adding additional edits to make cleaner versions? I have DAW software but what are you doing within the software to "bleep" something out?

I use adobe audition.... and i hate bleeps or reversed lyrics...because the kids still sing it...so i many times will cut a whole verse...or repeat a different verse or line... if worse comes to worse...i take the instrumental...and lay it under the original in multi track...and anytime i want to cut out a word or words... i can cut the original track and bring up the instrumental underneath...and voila!

I normally add a 32 beat intro to a new song that hasnt been remixed and released to a dj service yet.. or if i dont like what they did... its easy to do this by picking out part of the instrumental for the intro beats

ps- FYI ...Audition has an easy reverse effect....just highlight the word you want reversed then click effects...and reverse is in the drop down menu

"Sad, depressing, hard to dance to".... lol. So School Dance Network is now the mood police as well as the ease-of-dancing police AND swear police?

I feel bad for DJs who pay money to be part of that racket.

That list will likely be stale by next month...song popularity is fleeting, like many things in the sites of contemporary yutes...

While true that kids taste change quickly it is surprising how often they don't want the brand new stuff. The last high school dance I did, yes they wanted some brand new stuff, but they also requested stuff like I GOTTA FEELING and GET LOW and THE WOBBLE. Just because it might be ten or fifteen years old doesn't mean they don't want to hear it.

Tru dat...but not as common in many markets.

It's sad that it has come to this. Freedom of speech has become out of control. What happened to the time you didn't have to check if a song was a clean version or not? Just sad how things have changed.

There were a bunch of explicit songs back in the day as well (see the last couple lines of the Rolling Stones - Start Me Up). It's not that difficult to use radio edits .. most pools have them .. and that works for almost all uses. Schools are a little stricter and it just makes sense to do a little due diligence if you provide services to them. You do not, so really not an issue for you.

That Sza and Justin Timberlake song is very very lazy product when compared to his last hit from the first Trolls movie... still stays on my request lists....i dont see the same fate for this new track

For anyone truly trying to play "clean music" to a highly impressionable crowd... the stuff that slips through the cracks just because it doesnt have a curse word is just wacky.... its like saying murder is fine as long as you dont use a gun...

The song "Ride it" is highly sexual...along with about 4 or 5 other titles on this...

Im no prude... but if im playing for a crowd ...especially kids...and am trying to protect their values...i am a bit more picky than this list...

Either I or this list is really out of the loop with what kids actually want to hear at an event. I went through that list and counted only 5-7 songs that I would actually play. Kids are not listening to mainstream stuff.

This is just a list created by some church group i believe... atleast that was my assumption since it doesnt seem to follow the charts too closely

a church group? I mean it seems to have rankings and if its going up or down. I can't see a church group approving lizzo regardless of if its clean or not.

That was my point... i guess Rocky can answer this better...i was going on assumptions as ive never seen Billboard do a "clean music" list
