My old version of virtual dj7 has gotten buggy and is acting up. I have lost my disk and password to go on line to fix it. I'm looking for a new disk but can't find anywhere to buy it.Where can i buy a new disk so I can dump my old version and reload a new one.
I don't need there vdj pro version, just the home version as I'm not gonna be using it to gig with.
Thanks

Are there better versions of PC based dj software that are as good or better then vdj7?
In fact something like windows media player that runs on USB out would be fine. Basically a juke box that runs on USB outs where I can create a play list and just hit play. Im using an old windows 7 PC and it's old and not supported anymore and it's been years since it was updated or plugged into the internet.
Again, I just want it as a home juke box, that runs on USB outs, It doesn't need to have loops, beat matching or any of the dj tools that vdj7 has.

Windows Media Player has always been and is still a part of Windows (Win10) and can play a playlist just fine.

vdj 7 is so, well, 2008. LOL
VDJ8 has even been replaced by VDJ2020.

I believe you can get a trial version from their website. They have a FB group as well for support.

If you bought it once the updates are free - contact them for help in recovering your codes/access info.

I downloaded the home trial version and it works but it only plays one song at a time. I can't get it to make a play list and play just more then one song at a time.

Not threw a USB port though unless you have a sound card with USB outs. My PC only has the built in sound card on the mother board.

If you're playing this at home on a computer, what do you need an external sound card for? VDJ (and others) will play through the built in soundcards. I'm pretty sure that even Windows Media Player can play to external sound cards if you needed that.

I guess I'm confused, you want something simple (to act like a jukebox) and said something similar to WMP .. it doesn't get any simpler than WMP and built in equipment.

When you say Old School, you ain't kidn' !!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, that phone is doing you a favor by not enabling iTunes.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :sunny:
I still run passive gear to. Still using my old DJM5000 mixer.
I don't text, skipe, FB i tunes tweet, nothin. When my phone rings I answer it. When I want to communicate I'll call you.
Besides texting on an old flip phone sucks. I can still take the battery out of my phone and make it untraceable.
It will hold a charge for a week. Bet you can't do that with a smart phone with all those aps running all the time.
My music PC is an old windows 7 thats about 15 maybe 20 years old. But it still works. The one I'm on now is windows 10 thats only about 2 years old.
I'm not PC save" But thankfully, I have a nephew that is. He works PC security for the government. Next time he comes down I'll get him to fix me up.
Setting up a dj program would be easy for him.

How can you compare taking a battery out of a phone and saying it's untraceable to a phone with apps running all the time (obviously powered up)? Most smart phones that are off are also untraceable as there are no apps running - it's off. Take out the SIM and any phone is definitely untraceable. Any phone turned on, is traceable.

Windows 7 is only 10 years old this year (released Oct 22, 2009). This machine should not be connected to anything that has a path to the Internet.

The key word and you used is "Most smart phones that are off are also untraceable as there are no apps running" "Not If it's been hacked without your knowledge, You can turn it off and take out the sim card and it can still trace you without your knowledge.
The only way is to put the phone in a faraday cage where it can block all in coming and out going signals.

If a phone is off, then it is untraceable .. regardless of it being a current smart / flip phone or from 30 years ago. It is 100% impossible to trace something that is not transmitting.

If it's been hacked, generally when I power it off, it's still off. The 'hacking' techniques that he's speaking of do not apply to the public at large and is not something easy to do. These are specific targeted users and they're hacking with specific programs for specific devices - to respond and act in a specific manner. An easy way to tell if your phone is off .. try to communicate with it (call it, connect to the hotspot and other ways). If you can't see it, then no one else can either.

Without a SIM, it can't authenticate to any towers with anything but it's IMEI, which if hacked, a hacker can and may change.

Can you take the battery out of your smart phone by simply opening up the back and removing it? No most smary phones are sealed and it takes great effort to open them up and remove the battery. Dumb phones like mine I can simply pop the back off and remove the battery in 30 seconds.
Only if you remove the battery does it become untraceable because it needs power to do it's work. If you remove the battery, it has no power. If a smart phone has been hacked, it may look and act like it's off, but it's not. Same thing with a lap top or a modem. Watch the video again and pay closer attention. Besides, if you have had your phone on for any length of time, it has already traced where you go and what you do. Those records are already been stored. So it already knows you movement patterns and usages that are already stored in a bulk data bank.

Do you remove the battery from your car so it stops using gas? Same idea. If you know how your devices work, and you pay attention, you should be able to tell if something isn't right - and that's a red flag. The tools it takes to infect and track smart phones is not cheap nor is it easy. This is not being done in general practice. Laptops don't transmit anything when they're off. Modem .. whats that? There are apps that have a record of where you have been and you can remove those. Your cell provider keeps logs of tower activity - and not your phone.

If you knew half the stuff that Snowden and others know, you would never do anything ever again. Do you have wifi at home or on the road? Do you use the Internet at home? If either of these are yes, the phone is the least of your worries. Using an outdated OS only adds to what people can do with that system. Do you use credit cards? Definitely more valuable information there than a phone. You talk about using an old phone to be 'secure' - but you use an outdated system (Windows 7) that isn't. Additionally, while I understand your logic of a removable battery, if it's an old unsupported phone, then it's more susceptible to being hacked than any smart phone - because its old technology. The reason people like Snowden use burner phones is because he knew he was a target (because of his job) and knew there was potential that he could be hacked.

Does your car have on-stare? It to is tracing your car. Where it goes, how fast are you going, what direction your traveling. Cops can now take that the livens plate number and get your vin number and they can have on star turn you car off if your running from them. It doesn't actually turn it off, it just makes it so you can go anymore. The motor will still run so you don't lose your breaks or power staring but you can push on the gas and it wont go. I have several family members that are cops and they all say it works. Only if they have the right plate number so they can get the right vin. If you change the plate or remove it then that can't get the vin.
But on star also bulk collects your cars movements, so that can find out where your car was and when it was there and how long it was there.
They also trace you by you using your credit card, what you bought, where you bought it when you bought it. This is also bulk collected.
Does you home have a smart meter? They know everything about your power usage day and night. They are also putting smart chips in your home appliances, you refrigerator, dish washer, washing machine, dryer A/C and heating units. This is also bulk collected. They know when you turn things on and off. This is done for many reasons. Not to spy on you but to track your usage so when power starts to peak and a brown out may happen they can reduce your power usage to protect the grid. But the point is everything electronically operated is starting to be bulk tracked and stored.
Do you have an Alexia in your home? That you can simply ask it a question and it will give you the information? It's listing to every word you say all day every day. It can be hacked and someone can hear every word you say in your home and It's programed for key words to listen for. That info is also being bulk collected. The point is all the things we use everyday without thinking about them are spying or can be used to spy on you.
Wali down the street and there are cameras everywhere just watching. With facial recognition they can track you. Ever use ez tag to run toll roads? Facial recognition is being used to see your face behind the wheel.
You think this is paranoia but it real and it happening more and more all the time.
Ever see the movie, Enemy of the state? That kind of technology is closer then you think.Give it another 20 years' There are thousands of dedicated spy privet and government satellites watching and collecting data every day on everything that is traceable.
I know you gonna say your just being paranoid, but it's happening more and more every day. The day is coming when we will have no privacy at all.
Big brother is gearing up and it's only a mater of time. Red light cameras, speed trap cameras. Cops sitting on the side of the road have livens plat recognition soft wear that constantly see and run plate numbers to aid them in finding cars that may have an APB on them or the driver may have a warrant. It's coming.
