Did anybody else see that post from Cheryl Lau (Both Lighting) about their sale on sparkler fountains? 4 units, 10 packs of powder and rolling carrying case for like $1450. I gotta tell you, I'm chomping at the bit to get some of these for my venue. Thinking that after I get another half dozen lined up (and the cash flow coming in from them) I just may have to bite the bullet. Man, having some promo video of that effect in podunk Alabama could be a game changer.

There's a remote with the ones you're looking at... the chinese ones can be dmx'd with a generic dmx controller if you want a wired connection. The sparkular ones have a control center, but is much more versatile, and also has a monitor to watch the heat levels of the units to make sure they're hot enough before firing, and to prevent them from overheating. As a venue owner, for safety, I'd highly consider that of value. All the venues around here have gone with the sparkular units for that primary reason (they're also insured should the units be faulty). I had the chinese ones, and the only visual differences, they're output isn't as evenly distributed or as "dense" or full as the sparkular units. Keep in mind... while this is $1500 for 4 units... the sparkular will run you close to 10k with the granules.

I've used 4 of the chinese units. I will say their output was great, however, they were not dependable. They kept overheating and I could only use them half the time I actually wanted to. They seem to feed through the granules really fast.

The granule feeding is what I meant by being able to control the density on the sparkulars. One pouch for a unit for me can probably last 4-6 parties (shooting 2x on first dance, as well as 3-5x during the dancing segments... all 10-20 second bursts).

Thanks for the input guys, that helps. This might be one of those cases where I need to save up and go with the better units.

Why bother? Podunk, Alabama may not have seen it before, but that doesn't mean it's something they'll see value in. Why can't they just bring their own fireworks?

Stay focused. Your venue's either going to be too dazzling on the inside for the area's tastes, or not nice enough structurally for the people who want expensive extra things like spark machines. There's a saying - sell the sizzle, not the steak... but it doesn't take into account that you still need to get the people into your restaurant in the first place.

Indoor fireworks on a first dance? That’s a bit dangerous and a lot of permitting required

He's in Podunk, Alabama... they're probably drinking their own moonshine in the parking lot.
