Hopefully Chris for your sake the new one that you suggested I buy works great. Because if it doesn't I'm going to find you and punch you in the eye. Obviously I'm just kidding.

Now I do need to put a sign on the door to tell people who deliver things to ring the door bell so someone gets the packages instead of me coming outside and seeing them sitting on the porch.

If only companies had listed something like specs before you bought a product that could tell you this kind of information. Hmmmmm.
Some do some don't. Some make exaggerated claims. For example a Gem sub boasting it could handle I believe 2000 watts. That was many years ago I saw that. You try that and I guarantee it will start smoking and then blow up.

example I have stands that are over 20 years old in bags that look new & work every weekend

I see you missed the point. Before you purchased this item, I'm sure the specs were listed - you don't have to reinvent the wheel to figure out how much weight it will hold.

The stand you bought was junk mix Chris' suggestion is an upgrade but you need to be gentle with it. I had an HA stand exactly like it and started repairing it at the 4 month mark. At the 8 month mark I sold it to some other poor unsuspecting slob

Yeah....just trying to keep it within his price range... there are definitely better models out there...i personally own a set of griffins ...they are pretty solid...i bag them and take good care of them though...tighten this or that from time to time

You've seen how Mix cares for his expensive speakers .. I'll bet a light stand goes in 3 weeks .. either it breaks or is left behind somewhere ..
