High class wedding

Part of me feels like... it's their day. They can choose how formal they want their wedding to be. Hopefully the invite correctly informed guests of what they should expect and what is expected of them.

The other part of me doesn't understand how people can't be bothered to look nice for their own wedding day.

Given the outfits I see coming into Dunkin Donuts in the morning, I'd say a new pair of jeans might actually be a nice look for some ..

I don't get those. Al though, I attended my cousin's wedding in August which kind of came close to that as it was pretty low budget. The grooms men wore Dress pants with suspenders, no jackets. Once the sun went down they were all in their under shirts. It was a hot August day though.

Had one lone casual guy at my wedding Saturday... pictured below in the camo hat.... for me... i just cant imagine my personal agitation with wearing my camo hat could ever trump the horrid feeling of awkwardness knowing how pitifully underdressed you are.... maybe some people are missing that gene...they replaced it with Jeans...tee hee

I don't know .. if I was told it was being held in a service garage, I might lean toward casualness.

I love it when some guy at the wedding is wearing the dress shirt he JUST took out of the package.
And you can tell, because there are obvious fold lines on the sides and the bottom.

Even worse...the dj.... with the matching clip on tie

Cant pass up a deal on red dress shirts right Ricky?

Maroon is actually my favorite color dress shirt to wear, followed by Blue and Red

I have some great black dress shirts, but so many caterers at the events I do now wear all black. I do not want to be mistaken as one of thew wait staff. ...I would say that at least 1 in 2 caterers have their staff wear all black in this area. ...Also so many DJs wear black that I prefer to differentiate a bit.

I do not like white because I sweat A LOT during load in, and after for a while, and I one little tiny stain from soda or something ruins the look.

My favorite is the dude that shows up with the worn out tee and old jeans while his wife and everybody else dresses semi-formal. Way to make a stand!!!

What I learned is that I dress appropiately. I can't control how others dress. Some events I turn down because I know what the dress code will be telling me the kind of people who will be attending the event.

This is the most ridiculous statement ever. I do tons of high end events, many black tie, as well as events were guests are a bit more lax about attire, and I would never judge the outcome of the event based on how people dressed. I just did an event in south Jersey this past weekend, at a venue right outside of Camden. Some guest literally showed up in tshirts, jeans, and sneakers… one guy in construction boots. Not my recommended choice of attire for a wedding, but this crowd was so much fun and they were all there to create a memorable evening for the couple. Everyone got out there and danced… down to the guy in construction boots.

thats also the first time I’ve ever heard of the dress code being a qualifying question that we ask our clients and a determining factor on if we do an event or how we charge. Idk Mix…it may just be an age difference but I question your viewpoints at times.

What I'm talking about and what you're saying are 2 different things. Most of the events you do are in high class venues and not just some cheap hall. So in certain cases depending on the people who are having the event, the area and the music they want, I can tell to stay away. I'm not always right but most times I am right. The people I'm talking about don't have the kind of money that clients you do have to have an event in a high class venue.

We did an event for my best friends youngest grand daughter and it was great. It was in a venue in Wheequaic Park. The new venue there was really nice inside. They tore down the old place and built this one. It's $500 to rent it out for 4 hours. They give you a 2 hour window for setup and an 1 1/2 hours for clean up. I was really surprised how great it looked inside. Me and my best friend have been friends since 4th grade. I've done tons of events for them and I know we don't ever have to worry about any drama happening ever. What I do is I use my Spider Man sense that tells me to go for it or steer clear away.
