I haven't been around here for almost a year and he has not finished his website yet

I reckon you could stay away a decade and Mix would be the same...A constant in an ever changing universe :)

We don't know they're finished .. you had promised to share the contract, but haven't .. :)
I can't get it to post up on this site. Please tell me what is the fascination with seeing what our contract says and looks like?

I have an idea since I don't know how to post it on here. How's about you send me a PM with your email address and I can send it to you so you can post it on here please?

No one is or will be fascinated with whatever you offer, in the unforseeable future, as a contract.

Most with a scintilla of brains doubt anything you claim and your inability to successfully complete the most simple of tasks provides evidence to the validity of that doubt.

I suggest you never post your contract and leave us all in suspense. The suspense would be the most pleasure you could provide in this forum.

Here is the contract. I made a mistake in not seeing the contract come up in a folder. Here it is now for all you nosy people to see. I was considering a change in the 50% retainer required in the contract. Maybe make it 25% for the retainer. Really not sure what it should be. I know I would like for it to be a decent amount that won't be too much for a potential client to afford and also be enough that a client signing the contract won't want to forfeit the retainer going with another DJ.

OK, you seem to have many of the needed pieces of information in there .. however it starts with a misspelling in the 5th word and has grammar and punctuation issues all through it. If you want it to be enforceable, you really need someone to clean it up and have a local attorney make sure you are covered in NJ.

Damn, you blew it. You couldn't even do nothing correctly.

And then you attach a zip file, potentially rife with viral BS or trojan horses or moron contagions...NO THANKS!

It seems you can't upload a DOCX file here. I did the dirty work on an old computer just in case. I can't be bothered to dropbox it so here is the low and skinny

Mix .. Do you still HAVE the 888 number? I thought you said previously that you didn't.

Still do and this contract was made up before there was a way for people to pay at an event the balance due with a cash app like Square.

But you have contradictory lines like " REMAINING BALANCE IS DUE NO LATER THEN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE EVENT "
and
" IF BALANCE IS TO BE PAID THE DAY OF THE EVENT IT IS DUE IN CASH ONLY. (NO EXCEPTIONS) PRIOR TO SETUP. "

either it HAS to be paid 2 weeks prior .. OR .. it can be paid day of .. you really shouldn't have these types of things in a contract.

I won't make another thread on this one. The laptop skin came today and it's correct. I will take off the old and put on the new. It's nothing fancy and that's how I wanted it. I wanted it to be easy to read.

That contract is good for starting a fire and thats about it.
Sorry you disagree. No I'm not. I expect that from you. I do understand Steve. I made it up that way because some people may not be comfortable with paying the full amount before the DJ shows up to do the event. There have been those who have gotten paid in full and the client never sees the DJ again if they seen them at all. Just looking to make a client feel comfortable.

I have never taken money from a client and not show up. God forbid if I got sick the day of an event and I have to be rushed to the hospital. Thankfully that has never happened.

The language in your contract is all over the place .. you don't want to say "You have to do this (like pay 2 weeks early) but you don't have to (pay day of in cash).
