Bassboss 12s and 18s aren't like regular 12s and 18s and I agree unless you are just background music 12s and 18s for a park setting is a bit light especially if there are performances.
Bassboss is just like anyone else, just they figured out how to add more power to the box. Point being, if they used TWO of each for a small festival or park sized performance, then TWO of each are more than sufficient for anything less (to include a small audience).

Do you think 2 of each BB's would be needed for an event with less than 10 people at it? If not, then why would you need 18 speakers from various MFR's?

BB's two 12's and 18's most likely sound nice, as they are the same equipment with the same settings. I'm not sure the same can be said for 18 speakers from various MFR's and no speaker control mechanisms.

I'm really puzzled why you rush to his defense. If you want to play music as a hobby, then so be it. If you consistently ask for business advice but never heed any of it, then you have an issue. Ever heard of the boy that cried wolf? Mix is that boy.

There some magic in the bass boss stuff I’m pretty sure it has to do with super high quality components and incredible build quality , I have half of that same system it hits harder than anything I’ve heard of a similar size n my 30 plus years in this business

I agree there's some magic in those boxes .. most likely high quality amps (Powersoft), heavy duty well built drivers, well braced cabinets and magic wave guides.

I do outdoor movies thru the third week in October. It can be cool & gets dark early. Then after dark it gets even colder. I keep my winter coats, gloves & earmuffs in the truck for a October event, no joke. You better hope of good weather & promote like hell, because people don’t usually go to the park during that time frame. So I would expect less people unless you do some Earth shattering promotions to attract them.

I feel like he catches way to much flack around here. I think in his case Djing is a hobby and a business. You all talk to this 60+ year old man as he is a little disobedient child or something. I just choose not to add to that personally. One thing yall may think abt when you offer advice is that your offering it, it is take it or leave it. If he takes it great! If not thats his perogative. Yall destroy this man on these boards. If i were him I wouldn't come back honestly. I just feel he gets destroyed here without properly defending himself from you alls onslaught. This is both a business and hobby to him, nothing wrong with that. Give him your advice if you would like then move on. No need in the belittling pettiness on here on a daily basis. This is my opinion I'm sure yall would have something to say abt that too lol its ok I'm a big boy I can take it lol

We have people here older than him - and they have no issues. I think the longer you watch, the more you'll grow frustrated - it's happened to everyone here. :)

I don't think anyone here has a problem giving advice and moving on. We have problems with giving that same advice to the same person over and over and over again (and over and over again) - because the same things are asked over and over and over again. The result of those conversations, he does the exact opposite of what you said - and then comes back and asks for the same advice again. We have some popcorn and the brick wall at the ready when it's time for you to pummel your head into it. It'll happen, just give it time. We have ALL been where you are.

As for a 60+ year old disobedient child - I would never call him that ... but if the shoe fits. If true, he's certainly not the only 60+ year old on the planet that acts like this. If one wants to be treated like a 60+ year old experienced, knowledgeable person, then one should carry themselves as such. You teach people how to treat you. As has been mentioned many times, respect is earned - by your customers and by your peers. People do not have to respect you - especially when there is no respect given.

Everything stated here has happened across multiple DJ forums - with the same exact results from totally different groups of people. I didn't know him until he got here ... and I'm not an active participating member of any other dj forum - but at the time, you could easily search across multiple forums and find the same person, with the same questions, the same answers and the same results. He's been here since 2011 - with the same modus operandi.

As a group, we try to move forward and help others move forward. That said, you're only as strong as the weakest link ... which means we're stuck with House music in Zanzabar, 1978 and the tackheads are coming.

With 'Give him your advice if you would like then move on' in mind, because this is our belief as well, there has been recent discussion of not responding, re-responding, re-re-responding, re-re-re-responding, re-re-re-re-responding, etc ... that said, we just need to agree to not partake in the circle of confusion and move forward. As long as people continue responding, the cycle will never end. FWIW, we think he gets pleasure from this.

Just found out the date has to be changed back to the original date October 20th. Another group is using that area October 6th. My DJ friend forgot to tell the people who work at the park. I just called and got the date changed again.

How bout you just wait and tell us the final date the day before... will save a lot of needless posts about it changing back and forth

I just found out one of the DJs who's playing that day is bringing 4 bottoms himself on top of what we're bringing.

Good, that should make it sound even more like CRAP. Good plan!

Some friendly take it or leave it advice I would take his 4 subs assuming they are all the same, Just bring your EV Mains and amp and then a couple of monitor speakers. That should sound pretty good, its what I would do. If his subs are the same as yours and your wanting More bass then by all means bring yours too.

Friendly wager...if he takes your advice i will never say another word on this forum.
