Sydney, Nova Scotia
We are about to get hit and I have a gig tonight at a venue right on the water...Might be a long night LOL

I believe Jeff is on the same chunk of green as Sydney (Cape Bretton - about 30 miles west of Sydney), so basically right up the alley.

This storm has been a real stinker. East coast of Florida dodged a 105mm cannon, while the Bahamas got destroyed. Still enough wind to cancel many airline flights, like mine out of West Palm. Finally got up to Long Island - the wife and I have been baby sitting two Grandchildren, while my son and daughter-in-law went to her sister's idiot destination wedding in Aruba. The fairy tale stuff is nice, but what a PIA for everyone invited! Me? I've been laughing my ass off with the kids, especially the youngest who's a year and a half old. I think she's going to give her parents pure heck when she gets older! Payback!! Ain't life great!!!

Good Luck Jeff! Nova Scotia getting hit by a HURRICANE....I wonder how many times that has occurred?

Usually the get Nor Easters, and a Hurricane is usually broken up into a storm system, or at most a Tropical Storm by the time it get's to MAINE, much less Canada.

My Parents in Delaware got about 3 inches of Rain from the outer bands of Dorian. Mainly just rain and 45 mph wind gusts. Nobody lost power as far as I know though. ...I had some friends in North Carolina lose power for a few hours when Dorian brushed their coastal areas.

Dorian was headed toward a direct hit on Mira Lago, just as ALL the loony lefties were hoping. Then, Trump used his mind to divert the storm, just as Marianne Williamson suggested, though all the loony lefties laughed at her. Trump proved her to be correct, so maybe the loony lefties should select Marianne Williamson for their presidential candidate.

Unfortunately there were consequences to diverting the hurricane; it destroyed the Bahamas. So I guess you can blame Trump for the disaster in the Bahamas, or you can praise him for saving the east coast of the United States.[emoji1]

Safe and sound here guys thanks :) I'm at a gig power has been out at home since last night around 10 I was in the middle of a post in this thread when it all went black. My gig last night ended up cancelled. I'll type more later

Well the power was out for about 30 hours or so and I still have no internet at home. Normally I don't have much cell service at home anyway but it's non existent now apparently between the damage to towers and the power outages cell service is at a minimum everywhere. We had another power outage last night

In reality we were pretty lucky there was a lot of damage across the province and there's still almost 40,000 with no power. I did make the decision to quit talking about it and buy a generator before the winter.

Apparently the guy in charge of dismantling cranes in Halifax is no longer working LOL
