Rappers from the past 35 years are going to be so embarrassed

They don't sing, so the bump in the 2K region probably works to their advantage.

...kind of like what a Leslie cabinet does for a Hammond B3 organ.
If your referring to the Rotosonics, knowing what that means means we're old...

(Not mine pictured but did hear and briefly connect a retro-fitted one to my home stereo...not the best option for mobile dj use.)

That is a pic of an original style Leslie where the speaker was fixed and only the horn rotated. The rotosonic models had the actual speaker rotating (see below), not just the horn. BTW, one of my industry friends is the son of Donald Leslie.

The one I briefly encountered was the spinning horn version.

I actually found the sound off-putting for prerecorded music.

Blasphemy! The Hammond B3 and Leslie sound defined classic rock. Steppenwolf probably used it best and got me into it.
Fine for "making" the music .. not so much for playing it back .. :)

Doh! Now I get what Rocky meant. Yes, I would agree it is not a playback speaker.
Yeppers...datsawut I mentid!

I ABSOFRIGGINLUTELY appreciate the impact it had on performing and creative musicians...it was a musician that shared the speaker with me and he warned me that my DJ/stereo system experience might be less than mind altering...and he was Ko-Rek, LOL!

The entire experiment was prompted by my then addiction to the "Echo" feature on my Pioneer Component car stereo system. I was greener than Kermit's ass or the other side of the proverbial hill at that stage and foolishly believed/opined that ECHOING anything and everything was the end all be all.

Eyeswuzdeadrong...in spades!
