I got a email about what happened at Club Marlos on Friday May 10th.

Again, unless you can somehow identify who the 'wrong people' are without being prejudice or offensive, then you will have legal issues to deal with - and these alone will run most places out of business.

This is your opinion. Successful owners do not usually make irrational, not thought out changes.
Wrong People (rong pee-PHUL) (noun) - Those who would carry weapons, grudges, ill-intentions or illegal substances into a venue or show where they are not wanted. Can be exceedingly difficult to identify unless they choose to self-identify by overt anti-social behavior, identifying articles of clothing or body modification (certain images displayed as body art). Race, ethnicity, nationality or religious affiliations do not predispose any individual to this definition.

How's that?

Carrying a weapon (gun) in and of itself does not make you the 'wrong people'. There are legal ways to carry a firearm. Other weapons, grudges, ill-intentions and/or illegal substances may not be known until after the person / people have entered the facility.

The question as posed was how to properly (and legally) identify the 'wrong people' prior to entry.

Well, I suppose the "wrong" people might be wearing Giants or Saints attire ...

If you brought a boat, I think they would forgive you right now. They are already flooded and possibly have a hurricane inbound....

Do we have any New Orleans residents on here? And if so, how are y'all doing?

Alive, oh hell yeah, unscathed, prolly not. (It's all in the spirit of Laissez les bons temps rouler ...just ask Falcon's fans)

But, most assuredly welcomed back and subject to the utmost in true hospitality and brotherhood.

Dat's jut how we roll...WHODAT & GEAUX SAINTS!

P.S. We'll take all the prayers and good thoughts y'all can spare but this storm doesn't appear to be the next Big One! By the time storms reach Shreveport/ Bossier City (300+miles N of the Big Easy) they have been weakened by land and natural devolution. Still could be windy and wet but likely & hopefully not devesatting.

The floods yesterday were due, as we will likely/predictably find out in a few weeks when the pump station logs are release, due to a failure by the local authorities and their politically driven lack of inelligence and abilities...unfortunatley that is also how we roll or float , as it were.

What happened to the time when people just went out to have a good time listening to a DJ play and you didn't worry about someone bringing a weapon to the party or looking to start a fight?

Heck, I bring a weapon to every DJ event I work (and everyone I go) and sometimes multiple weapons. I always have a switchblade on my side unless I am flying somewhere and am on a rare occasion armed with a firearm (or reverse that...you decide...), but I am also an NRA instructor and License to Carry licensee and instructor in Texas....so unless something says I shouldn't, I usually do.

No pat down in clubs ? Only if Mix is playing. He's famous.

While you are right on the race/religion/etc my experience from security tells me that clothing and body mods don't tell you much either in most cases. Actions and attitude can tell you 9/10 though. More often than not when I worked security you knew long before it was to happen that it would
