I liked the post .. I don't like the news. Going to have to watch the 1pm E announcement. If needed, someone will step up with an alternative.

There's others you can download from Itunes was just the most popular...Maybe the artists will make some money now

I haven't bought music from iTunes in a couple of years, so no biggie if the music acquisition portion goes to a more stream friendly setup. I do hope that the actual application lives on .. it is my music management tool.

I have a feeling they're going to simply go to Apple Music. Think about it, if you haven't bought music from Itunes in a while, they haven't been getting your money. If they force everyone to use Apple Music with a subscription, it's constant cash flow for them.

That's the iTunes store. The iTunes app is used for a number of things including managing iPhones and iPads. I back them up there, I sync music and such. If they just rename it Apple Music and it has the same offline capability, I'm OK .. :)

I know several DJ who use ITunes to manage their library music. They would seriously have a problem.

I do buy music from them when needed. I've also bought apps.

According to the report, they have 50 million customers - at $9.95 / mo. They already have constant cash flow.

I have bought music in the past .. and occasionally buy an app (though I normally do that through the app store).

I too, hate the trend to pushing everyone towards streaming-only. I use Amazon, and they keep switching things up and trying to steer people away from buying mp3s. I just don't like streaming at events.
For Apple, I assume it's a revenue stream issue. Take me .. I gave them on average maybe $20 a year at the peak. If they offered all their music for $20 a month, I might have gone with it and they get far more from me (not sure how they pay out). No need to buy something if you can easily get it again with your subscription. Those that buy a few mp3s just aren't bringing in the $$$.

I currently use Spotify, but Spotify and apple music are pretty close. Its not about streaming at events. I download any songs I know I might want. Its just very convenient. My iPadS are 256gig and now each has about 75,000 songs on them. These are just for back up. Still prefer my laptop. But I still have the ability to download a song when I need it.

Recently had a groom at an event tell me he forgot to ask me for a special song for his grandparents. Some 50yo obscure song. Downloaded it from Spotify in seconds...good to go.

No streaming.

I only choose Spotify because it integrates with the djay app. Apple music does not.

Scott, I take it you have a cellular ipad. Or somehow have your own hotspot?
