My semi ex shared a post from Facebook about what happened at Club Marlos this past Friday I believe. It said 4 fights broke out inside the club and another outside the club. It's sad now when people can't go out to a bar, Lounge or club without there possibly being a fight breaking out or someone getting shot and killed.

I used to play with a friend on Wednesday nights there. That club has been around for about 40 years or so. It was a nice place to go to at one time. I haven't been in there in a few years. They did some nice improvements along with the sound system. A friend of mine played there on Friday nights from 6 to 9PM for the after work thing. You paid to get in and 6 to 7 was open bar. Plenty of great food and a really great DJ. Now with what just happened there that's why I'm careful about where I play at and the private events we do. My friend played there for 14 years before giving it up. At the end he was being paid $450 to play there on Friday for the 3 hours.

My big concern is my God Son. He works security in the club. I just got to find out is he alright. Make sure he wasn't hurt. This is a big reason some people are afraid of going out nowadays. I remember a time when people went out to hear a DJ play in a place and there was no need for security. Nowadays almost all places need some kind of security. My experience is that those places that don't have security don't last but for so long.

To hell with that. What about what happened at Club Marlos? What do you say about that!?

Every bar has fights at some point in time that's what happens when you mix alcohol and idiots. Two fools slugging it out is reasonably safe. If there are shootings at the bar it's likely a neighbourhood thing

You see mix no one really cares about these clubs you talk about that are in a bad part of town, to you it may not seem like a bad area to the rest of us it’s painfully obvious that this would be classified as the hood
No sir it's not that at all. This place has been around a long time. I don't know about it being in the hood. It once was a very nice area at one time. Some things do change over time. Some areas that were nice areas have changed.

I'm just happy my God Son is safe. That was my big concern. He has become a great man and father.

My issue sir is not just the location of a place but who the place allows to come in the place. You can have a bar/club in a nice area and letting the wrong people in the place can turn it from sugar to s***. That's my issue when a place is doing well already and the owner/manager decides to make major changes to how the place is being run and things turn into a hot mess. Seen nice places in a nice area doing well and turn things over into something else messing things up.

Every piece is going to have at least one bad night each year. Sometimes due to weather conditions or people just decided to go someplace else for that night. The thing is to not panic and stock some money away for a bad night so the bills can still get paid.

So you have an event coming up in June, you post something like this and expect people to come down and see you? First, plenty of people go out and don’t even think about such things happening. I can’t even recall crap like that happening at any place I been to, know someone who been to or any way associated with. But then I don’t go to any local places when there are so many other more upscale places.

I just can’t figure out why you would even post something like this, are you expecting it to shine a positive light on yourself? Personally, it would be better just to post the positives, keep the negatives in the closet. I’m glad the godson is Ok and hopefully looking for a job away from the drama.

Things will be fine in the park. What surprises me is how some of you think nothing of a fight breaking out in a place. It's what some of you expect to happen at some time a place is in business. It does happen in some places at times. It's certainly something I'm not use to being around and not a place I would play at.

Things will be fine in the park. .

Im always cautious of anyone who speaks in absolutes... When i go around a blind curve...i expect a wreck on the other side...ive lived my life like this...and it has saved my azz many times....

Never let your imagination override your ability to take all measures available to INSURE that this "absolute" you speak of will be your reality.

I know you will have little to no security at this event... and NO...a couple of your boys doesnt count...

Those clubs you speak of... they probably have professional security of some sort...at least a seasoned guy and some mouth breathers who obey him... and yet they still see trouble....

you post this article as some sort of universal lesson that WE as dj's from across the country should learn...when in reality...you are posting a lesson for yourself...you just have no clue the moral

I have a clue. I've seen others posting they have or still are playing in a place where at times a fight breaks out and they still go back there to play. As to say it's normal and they can deal with it, just pay me. None of those places are anywhere near here.

Yeah but the other side of that is most of us don't worry about being shot no matter where we play. Two Neanderthals blowing off steam should have no effect on you unless you choose to get involved.

Now being the fact that you post at least once a month about someone being shot at or near a bar would indicate you have problems in your area most of us will never see

It looks like this:
My big concern is my God Son. He works security in the club. I just got to find out is he alright. Make sure he wasn't hurt.

If this is your big concern, get off of ODJT and call your Godson. SMH.

Again, unless you can somehow identify who the 'wrong people' are without being prejudice or offensive, then you will have legal issues to deal with - and these alone will run most places out of business.

... when a place is doing well already and the owner/manager decides to make major changes to how the place is being run and things turn into a hot mess.
This is your opinion. Successful owners do not usually make irrational, not thought out changes.
