Well, I got the VMS2 working (the dead one I picked up on ebay). I'm trying to use it with Traktor, and I've downloaded every tsi file I can find.

It looks like the general conscientious (from YouTube videos) is that most configure the VMS2/4/4.1 as External mixers - IMHO not particularly smart, since that totally eliminates the ability to use Traktors built in Prelisten/Track Preview function.

Has anyone had any luck configuring them (with Traktor) as Internal, fully Midi compliant (including the mixer section) devices??

Good thing I hardly paid anything for it. Poor design, brilliantly executed (built like a tank)!

Loved my VMS 4.1 and Traktor. Used it for 3 years, and it worked GREAT. It too was built like a tank, but much better features than the VMS2. I’ll betcha VDJ will work with zero problems, but of course VDJ isn’t Traktor.

I saw this thread though...

... Might be helpful; dunno???[emoji4]

In those 3 years, ever Preview a track with Traktor's built in Preview Player ? If so, how?

If you’re talkin’ about the Preview Player in Traktor, I have to admit; I don’t really use it. I have it set up, but never found the need to preview a track that way. If I do have to listen to a track I just downloaded, I usually download and listen to it on my backup computer before copying it over to my DJ computer.

I also don’t know how you would setup the Preview Player on a two channel controller like the VMS2 as it lacks the additional channels of the 4 Channel VMS 4.1 to output the player to.

Solved. Using Traktor Audio 2 DJ sound card, ASIO driver and then using the VMS2 as simply a Midi device. Everything set to "Internal". Works excellent, but the VMS2's mixer probably doesn't work as a stand alone device in this configuration, but I don't need that.
