Simple question. How many of us dance and how regularly do we do it?

For this question dancing could be just around the house without a partner while listening to music or going out to a bar or club. I am just asking if dancing is in your blood. We are in the business of getting people to dance so I was curious how many of us do it ourselves. Perhaps we are like the cobblers kids without any shoes. Let's find out.

I find myself physically responding to music often. It's normally in the form of a head bob, toe tapping... something rhythmic. I'm a drummer, and many of those patterns still bounce around in my head regularly. But very rarely do I find myself truly dancing, especially in public. Bopping around the house is certainly more common with music on.

I dance all the time, fast to Latin Salsa or slow love songs with my wife. It's one of the major factors why I DJ.

I've always felt dancing is intrinsic - we are born with "moving to music". Small children dance, indigenous tribes that have never had contact with the outside world dance.

NOT DANCING is a learned behavior that occurs as we get older and become self-conscious. I'm honestly not sure what happens when we die, but I'm pretty certain we get to do this part just once, and Lady Gaga got it right - Just Dance!

i danced a lot in my early days of going to clubs and meeting dj's... once i started having residencies and spending 5 nights a week in them it lost its charm... now my wife loves to dance so we love getting invited to weddings that im not djing and dancing the night away... its a much different experience now as an old married guy... i love it.

I have moments all the time where the groove just hits me and I get happy feet and just need to move. My GF loves it. I'd say it happens several times a week. Our social circle is mostly single women and they get together at least twice a month to go out dancing. We've got a great live music scene in my area. Usually we see old school funk or classic rock bands because our average age is in the upper 50s.

I have never had formal dance training yet I get compliments on my dancing from strangers nearly every time I go out. I can only guess this is because I can keep a beat and raise my arms above my shoulders (typical limitations for older white guys dancing). I used to be a much wilder dancer in my punk/new-wave formative years but coping with crowded dance floors led me to a somewhat unique dance style where my feet actually stay fairly still while the rest of my body moves. The thing is, I pretty much dance the same way regardless of the music. I guess if the ladies like it, there is no reason to change. Although, I may throw in some Carlton / Kevin Bacon moves to change things up.

If asked and necessary I'll try to, with minimal embarrassment, teach/instruct/lead or otherwise complete any of the 1/2 a dozen line dances I know which are only the basic 2 or 4 wall Freeze/Strokin'/Boot Scoot/Bus Stop/Footloose favorites...any thing else I'm as bad as Elaine Benes.

Well, if we're showing off, I can lead the Hokey Pokey ...

I have learned almost all the domestic dances, and ethnicities included.

Not a put down because I know and do dance, but it has befuddled me my whole career why not one client has ever asked if I know how to dance. They have asked if I come out from behind the booth and dance which almost all of them did not want and which I never do.

I credit my long term success and demand because of that one primary attribute... I know and love dance; all kinds and varieties. It makes non-scripted song selections so much more exciting and far less boring (for dancers) than the scripted mundane 30-minute genre sets.

Little does Cap know that he was secretly recorded at this Holiday Party last December...

Oddly enough I don't think Cap wears a cap...

That guy has been previously, summarily, and correctly critiqued/lambasted for years, maybe even a decade by this point. 36 seconds was too long for me so I can only imagine the discomfort that audience was made to endure for the duration of that amateurish "LukameBS".

10 to 1 odds he lasted about 2 to 3 years in this craft and returned to his more appropriate medium...local diner theater or broke-assed waiter in a Los Angeles delicatessen.
