BAD WEDDING DJ?

I think there's a lot of DJ's on this board who identify with the kind of service described in the report, and therefore find it necessary to cast doubt on the reporter, bride, and anyone except the DJ.

She booked this service online and so, EVERYTHING is in writing. DJs here who are implying some sort of ambiguity are merely speaking to the cloudy nature of their own integrity.

I think there are alot of DJ's on this board that know there is more than 1 side to any and all stories - and without hearing that other side, any judgement is invalid. In this age of media manipulation, you somehow believe the news media is being correct in this one instance?

Of course, your cowardly comments ignore the fact that given the chance to release a reply or to comment the DJ didn't just decline, he gave them $200 instead.
In "court" that's called no contest which is a perfunctory admission to the claims.

I stand by the argument that an unwillingness to see the obvious suggests: "there but for the grace of God go I."

Especially if you believe the customer is always right BS...right proformance?

All of MY customers are right. I'm can't speak to your own lack customer qualification.
Once you accept the job these are excuses not solutions.

Your cowardly comments suggest that you are somehow now a legal judge and know more of the story. Please share any additional evidence you have with the class. If you have none, then you do not have enough information to make a judgement - just like everyone else here. Additionally, you can't tout the law when you believe it's in your favor and ignore it when you disagree.

Plenty of people pay speeding tickets because they'd rather not deal with the drama. They may not have been speeding.

Actually, I don't remember any mention of the DJ declining to respond, just that they were contacted and offered up the $200. We don't know if the reporter said they would name them and the $200 took care of that .. we just don't know.

It does appear the DJ came unprepared and it appears there was an email trail that makes him suspect of no follow through with the data given.

Actually, do we even know if the DJ that showed up for the event was the same person the client had communicated with???... Coulda been his other brother Daryl!!![emoji1]

Actually... Pleading no contest or nolo contendere means you admit no guilt for the crime, but the court can determine the punishment.

No, - it's accepting a conviction without a trial. It's the avenue of cowards not the persecution of innocent wards.
Same result as pleading innocent and losing at trial.

It is EXACTLY what I posted. YOU said it’s “a perfunctory admission to the claims”, which it is NOT.

Bride hires DJ online - receives WRITTEN contract and WRITTEN itinerary, time line, attire, and music program.
DJ show shows up and doesn't deliver on any of the promised details, and doesn't even bring a copy of the agreements with him.
Bride contacts consumer reporter who investigates, DJ coughs up well deserved partial refund.
News story warns future bride's to be wary of booking DJs online.
***

What is it about this Disc Jockey that you personally identify with and need to defend?

Is it the part about the DJ being an unprepared hack, or something else? Seriously, how many customer complaints are you typically fielding? This is a no brainer - and your chosen response is queerly out of place.

You're basing any of your information on what ONE party is stating. That is not enough, in any capacity, to tell you the WHOLE story. Without the WHOLE story, you cannot make a judgement. What you can make are assumptions - and you know what happens if you do that. In any kind of disagreement, no true judgement can be made without hearing the details of both sides.

Bride is low on cash and decides to try to get money back
Bride decides to confront DJ with news crew - doesn't even bother talking to him first
Bride gets some money back (not due to her being right)

The 'how it happened' listed above is just as accurate with facts as yours is.

What is it about this Bride that you personally identify with and need to defend?
Is it the part about the Bride being an unprepared hack, a Bridezilla or something else? Is it that she wore a tank top and got upset that others didn't dress up? Seriously, how many complaints are you typically fielding? From everyone except you, this truly is a no brainer - and your chosen response is queerly out of place.

One thing that I feel can't be excused is the way the DJ was dressed. Even if it was a beach wedding he could have dressed a little better than that. Let me ask everyone this please. How long did it take you to get to become a polished professional and understand the importance? Nobody I know starts off that way. Weather it's in terms of gear, setup or the way you dress for a particular event.

If anything, I over-dressed when starting out. It wasn't until I grossly over-dressed (I was in formal and the groom was in jeans) that I learned to fit the occasion. If the gig was a beach wedding then the shirt might have been just right. Without having more info, it's silly to try and pass judgement on him. You're just buying the B.S. that hack reporter was spewing.

Here's another post by this same person:

---------------
I really do love Panera as it is convenient for breakfast with the rapid order pick up which I have been doing since it's beginning; however, if it is supposed to be a 10 minute pick up it really should be a 16 to 20 minutes pick up. I plan my timing around that… Irritating. Especially when my order is literally bagged (albeit still after the ten minutes) and sitting on a cart in the back waiting for a coffee cup to make a complete and no one completes it. Not the first or second time this is happened. I know this is a "first world problem at all… All I ordered was oatmeal and the coffee. It's going to take 15 minutes or 20 minutes then just say that on the app and I can plan accordingly.
---------------

It's probably Panera's fault. If things at her wedding were truly as bad as she says, why wasn't her spouse right there with her?

This puts a black mark on all Connecticut DJs .... :)
