I just noticed that IDJNOW is offering 17% off sale. Code is MG17. They RARELY ever offer more than 15% off. Only other time of the year they might offer 20% is black friday and Cyber Monday. ...Just checked, and the code does work! Just in case any one needs anything right now.

i love idjnow and use them almost exclusively....but i always find their constant 15 or 17 percent off sales so useless... i mean...not only is it just a few bucks off a a large purchase (250 or more) but it only applies to stuff thats at the inflated original price and not to any "package deals" or sale prices... so essentially...lets say i wanted to buy the mydmx go ....i can buy the single unit and use this coupon code...and get 30 bucks off...or i can get the package deal which includes about 50 or 60 dollars worth of extras for the same price....

they honestly have better prices without the coupon most of the time

There isn't enough mark up in audio equipment and lighting for these dealers to really offer more than 20% off...Especially if free shipping is included.

The Map Prices on audio gear over the past 9 or 10 years or so have been kept fairly low in relation to dealer costs. I think MAP prices were a good bit higher for audio dealers back in the 80s and 90s, and there was more profit in each sale back then.

When I bought the Yamaha DBR10 for my sister to use, they gave it to me at COST to beat out a Internet price I found. Cost was $308, and MAP was $399. Only $91 potential profit assuming customers come in and pay MAP. ....I paid $326 with tax that day. Dealer Cost is generally about 69% to 79% of MAP price on Audio Gear. Then consider if they have to pay to ship the item from a internet sale...I would imagine profits are slim on most items they sell when they are offering 17% off.

These audio dealers make more profit margin on stuff like Cables/Accessories etc.

Same as other industries. I used to be a firearms dealer back in the 90s .. Guns were about a 10% markup due to competition. Most of the profit was made with ammo, optics and knives.

One of the reasons Toys R Us went out of business. It was turning into a low profit business, and they required A LOT of volume to keep the doors open. Internet, and Amazon cut into their market share big time, and their stores were slowing down the last few years they were open...that and their debts just grew too large to handle.

My younger brother worked at Toys R Us. He said most of the toys that you see on sale for like $9.99 might have a store cost of like $7.85. There was no money in selling a Video game console system. Customers paid what store paid. Even video games have a small mark up. A game that sells for $49.99 probably has a store cost of like $39. If they don't sell, and that game goes on sale for $39.99...the store ain't making no money, just moving inventory. Stores only make profits on selling controllers, accessories, cables etc in video game land.

Check out KPODJ. I love them and there's a section to sign up for VIP pricing. I bought a Samson Concert 288 dual wireless microphones from them. The regular store price is $330 plus tax. I got it for exactly $250 even. So I saved over $80 buying from them.
