I'm not sure exactly what I want to do for a new facade. The one I have been using is nearing the 5 year mark. I really want to change the look at least a bit. I am using a Grundorf 52 inch Table Top Facade.

I know this is what I don't want in a new facade:

-I don't want the Black outlines and side panels any more like with I have with my current facade
-I don't want all black
-I don't any anything bulky that will weigh over 35 lbs...Willing to go to 45 lbs in weight, but prefer to stay below 35.

What I want:
-Something that comes with a case, or where I can order a SOFT CARRY case to put it in at least. I don't like hard, heavy cases
-I am leaning towards being able to light it up nicely. So White Plexi Glass, or White Lycra is probably my best bet.

I am willing to purchase a full facade and go that route over the table topper style...

Here are some ones I seem to like, but the reviews are mixed, and it seems the Quality of the product with the Seismic Audio Facade might be a bit mixed. The Dragonboards one I found I can't fine any reviews of, but it looks like it might look sweet with a couple of LED par lights, or a light bar behind it.

If I were to get this one, it would be the 68 inch version to fit a 6 foot table

I like some of the dragon front board facades in the $569 to $969 prince range, BUT...The weight on those are well above where I want to be, and the price is certainly a hefty price to pay.

I actually like the look of the Rockville Audio Facade a lot. However, while it has a lot of great reviews, I am reading that people have issues with the adhesive that holds the Scrim onto the Facade coming off after a few gigs (couple of months).

So in the end I'm not seeing anything that I just "Have to have" that really stands out for me, but those are the 3 that seems to fit my parameters.

Any other suggestions on facade or Table Topper Facade? Probably going to purchase on Monday (If I want to show it off at the bridal show next weekend...If I don't, then I guess I'm in no rush to order one. My current Facade still works fine...It's just that I want to change the look since I've had this one a long while now.

Ive got a dragon frontboard... i love it... but its definitely large and heavy...

Yeah, I don't want any bag, or piece of equipment in my arsenal weighing over 50 lbs. Now that I devided up my Power Cords and Cables bag into 2 seperate bags, my heaviest thing I have to load in/out is my Alto TS212S Sub which is 46 lbs with the cover on it.

I also just don't have the room for a large facade in my SUV. Really need a Cargo Van for that or a trailer.

Having trouble choosing a new facade
fa·cade noun - an outward appearance that is maintained to conceal a less pleasant or creditable reality.

synonyms:show, front, appearance, pretense, simulation, affectation, semblance, illusion, act, masquerade, charade, mask, cloak, veil, veneer

Try claiming you're a Native American. It could get you hired by Harvard or elected to the US Senate.

Alternatively, declare yourself alternately gendered then you can force people to bake you cakes.

WELCOME TO the U.S. of A., 2018.

Update:

I just called up Dragon Front Boards. At first the line was busy, but gave them 10 minutes and called back. A lady picked up the phone, and asked me to hold for just 30 seconds as she was finishing with another customer. She came back on the line and I had to ask if they do custom cut DJ Table Top Facades, and not just the demensions on the website? She told me YES they do, and many DJs call them up all the time asking them to do custom work for them.

After hearing the sweet news, I told her what demensions I want the facade to be cut in. She took the demensions down, and put the order in. I paid for the facade, and shipping to my address is only $25 (Not $50 which is what is listed on their website).

I am having the facade custom cut down to 13 inches tall from the table. I don't want the full 16 inches tall facade. I want something a little shorter, but not too short as I still want it to display a nice effect, and prevent people from potentially putting their drinks behind it.

Also great news, they will have it shipped out on Wendesday to me which means it should come in on Friday! If that is the case, this will be a sweet turn around time!

I am basically getting this one, but instead of 16 inches tall, it will be 13 inches tall! Just tall enough to hide my laptop stands, but show the laptops, and not cover myself so much, AND should still illuminate nicely for a nice light show from a hex bar light!

It’ll be interesting to see your setup after the new facade arrives. Post some pics![emoji4]

I will! Next gigs are on November 9th and 10th! ...Bridal show this Sunday, If I get it in time, I will take a pic of it at the show. ...I'm not bringing my regular set up to the bridal show though as no loud audio is allowed to be played, and I'm limited on space. I'm just showing videos off of a 32 inch screen. I just had a big heavy box arrive. My totems came in! :) Will be putting them together for first time on Wednesday, and setting them up at the show.

Scrimmed Totems, New Table Top Facade, Laptop on Stand, 32 inch TV on scrimmed stand, Up lights, Banner, and Sign. Should be a clean elegant set up for the show. Debating if I want to bring speaker stands and scrim them with speakers on top, but might look too packed into the booth, and what is the point of the speakers if we can't use them? The sign will let people know we are a DJ service...

So the Facade did not come in on Friday like the lady told me it would come in on Friday. No bid deal as I had a feeling it would not be in before the bridal show any way, so just used my Grundorf Table Top Facade. I never got any tracking infrom from Dragon Frontboards, so if it does not come in tomorrow, I will give them a call to see what's up.

So this Bridal Show was AWFUL for getting into for load in/load out. We left my house at 9 a.m. Got down to the Baltimore Convention Center at like 9:20, and saw that we had a big line of cars in front of us on the street just to get into the loading dock area. We spent 55 minutes in that line with the car running! Freaking ridiculous! ...THAT SUCKED! ...They were letting 1 car in every 90 seconds to 2 minutes it felt like.

By the time we got to the loading dock, and unloaded everything into our booth, we only had about 1 hour and 15 minutes before the show starts AND I had to go and park my car in a parking garage. I found parking garage .4 miles away which was $9.00. Parked there, and walked back to the convetion center which took me 10 minutes to talk there. My bro barely started setting stuff up so we had to really hustle.

We started setting up, and we ran into a snafu putting the 32 inch TV up on the stand which made us strapped for time. We couldn't get the nuts to tighten far enough, so we just winged it and hoped that the TV stayed on the stand. I was confident it would...The nuts were about half way up the nails so it just leanded down a bit. Then we started setting up the totems and everything else. I was sweating like crazy, and before I knew it, we had 10 minutes before the show starts, and still needed to get another totem set up. ....So we did not extend the totems that high, and our goal was to just get them even, and get ready for brides walking through the door.

By the time we were finished setting everything up it was 12:09. ...and I had to run to the restroom because I was drenched in sweat (also needed to pee)

Came back about 8 minutes later to brides at our booth! It was a busy show!

It seemed like most vendors were rushing to get ready. One Photo booth company showed up after the Show began, and they were setting up for a good 50 minutes while the show was going on. ...Felt bad for them...

Any way here are some pics from the show. Over 130 vendors were there.

Here is another DJ that was at the show.

There was another DJ there who had what appeared to be glow totems set up along with a pair of Mackie speakers, but I did not have my phone on me when I walked by his booth to take a pic.

The DJ company who did the fashion show was a multi op in the area. I think I have a pic on my phone of that set up. No totems but he did have a full facade that was lit up. His mix was decent as well! Played about 40 to 60 seconds of each song during the show.

Also, just got 2 emails from brides tonight who want to move forward with booking! Hopefully more brides decide to book!

DJ Facade still has not come in yet. I called Monday afternoon, and she apologized. Told me that their Plexiglass Distributor did not show up with their order last week, and that the order had just came in. They would have it made on Tuesday, and mailed out. Would receive tracking info as soon as it's shipped. It's Thursday now, and still don't have any tracking info, so I am assuming my order has not been processed yet.

Was hopeful to have it for this wedding on Saturday since the bride does not want any light effects, I was going to light up the new facade with my new bar light in Gold to match her up light colors, but I guess that won't happen now.

tookem a while to send mine as well.... its not plexi tho

I think I have become a tad spoiled with fast shipping on stuff from Amazon, and also even IDJNOW. When I ordered the Grundorf Table Top Facade, it came in 2 days...maybe 3. Of course, they have it pre made and sitting in their warehouse ready to be shipped already, but I'm not use to waiting 2 weeks for stuff to come in these days lol.

When it's custom, it's always longer. I had to wait 1 month for my dj podium stand, and even then I had to go through another 2 weeks of modifications before making it private event ready.

I really hope it's not that long. I have a wedding this Saturday, and a Wedding on the 16th. I would like to get some photo/video with it this month.

...I do have a Casino ballroom event the night before Thanksgiving, but would prefer to showcase it in a wedding setting.

Glissando DJ Facade - (https://www.dragonfrontboards.com/en/glissando-dj-facade.html)

Nice looking, but I feel the black parts of these style facades are too wide. Makes it look too bulky to me.

The facades probably need to be those dimensions to hold up, and be real durable, but I would prefer to look at thinner looking frames, and more plexiglass.
