Romance has nothing to do with helping fellow people, buttercup. He will experience all of the distress if he reaches the magical tipping point. While it's romantic to know you're so concerned about how he does things.... he's not experiencing any of the distress you would assign to him.
You just discovered that Serato is a DJ software? Wow .. Congratulations. This appears to be your argument - as you keep arguing about thingsIt's not my argument.
Serato is a DJ software, and you are arguing over it's capacity as an archive manager. Clearly, as an "IT guru" you can debug this misapplication?
That wouldn't fix the karaoke music issue, where I have over 150,000 songs, splitting them will not help, 150k is still 150k.
They are all in mp3 format with a separate attached video file. What file format is your karaoke collection?
Buying a few here, a few there, and having some cd's given to me by a company I used to work for doing karaoke, it does add up over time.150,000 discreet - karaoke tracks? That would be over a quarter of a million dollars if purchased legally
I have 2 laptops I use for DJing, one older Dell (about 4 years old now running win10), it crashes serato when I attempt to load karaoke on that, but it works fine with my music. A new HP that I purchased in january for school (it's currently my backup computer), that I loads karaoke, but slows down a lot.wait, what??
this changes everything!!!!
The fact that it doesn't crash one one and then the other tells me it's not a large file issue.
That is how all karaoke music is stored, even on cd's. It's just the way things are. I can load a few hundred with now problems, just not the whole collection.

got a responce from Serato--
"Theres no hard set limit on the amount of files you can import into Serato DJ. Its more an issue of the library size your system can handle."
Translated - they're saying it's the OS problem. But it's not. My OS and systems can obviously handle my library. Additionally, if you track through Serato's history, they have a known, persistent issue dealing with large libraries.
