I'm running 15" MBP's and no heat issues here either. I'm also running on chill mat's just in case.

I was gonna... I bought an iMac to use with my small system. It's a nice computer, but it has no VESA mount, and the stand is not easily removed. So I bought a Dell AIO PC... 23.5 inches, and I LOVE it. My Large System had two rack mounted computers, each with a 22" monitor. The new version I'm working on will use those same monitors. I like the large screens. It would be hard to go back to something 17" or smaller.[emoji4] The iMac is now in my office.[emoji4]
How is it? I'm skeptical of the lack of individual EQ on the channels.
Don't tell that to @Cap Capello ... I think he has several (2 or 3) 2Tb SSDs in each of his laptops. M.2, normal HD and a replacement tray that goes in the CD area.
it's not nearly impossible, and the reason people don't use iMacs is simply b/c it is not needed. I love my iMac, but would never ever want to take it out to DJ with.
A laptop is a better tool for the job. One piece, takes up a lot less space, keyobard and mouse built in, sets up quicker. I could keep going...

I never have my mics anything but flat anyway. The Senn's have some processing built in and if I need it, I will do it there.
I mounted the mixer during lunch and setup some gear and it works quite well. Everything works as it should and the sound seems the same, except for the mics, which sound great. (not forced, if that makes any sense).
I am sure he does. He is my hero, in many ways! haha
2 TB and greater, are just so expensive. But, I was getting close to that point where I had to do something. So, I just bit the bullet.
Well, I could dispute and debate your claims but you are entitled to your opinion. It is absolutely LAUGHABLE that you say a huge screen takes away from actually dj'ing... because the screen you use has so much to do with being a dj... We used to not even USE screens, my friend. Again, laughable!!! Talk to me when you have been doing this for 28 years.
We've had this debate before[emoji1]... Nothing wrong with laptops; they're just not necessarily for everyone. There's no doubt the laptop is easy to hook up, but not that much easier than an All-In-One computer with a wireless keyboard and mouse (like the iMac or my Dell AIO). The back of a laptop DOES look cleaner than the back of a computer or monitor, but there are drawbacks with laptops that make them less desirable for me. First, the screen is small, and if you have it mounted behind your controller, it looks pretty small from that distance. The size of the screen has absolutely NO impact on DJing, but it sure is nice when searching your library for music. Once I load a track, I hardly even look at the screen... I use the controls on my controller. Secondly, having to reach across your controller (and other gear mounted in the top of a rack) to use the keyboard on the laptop is uncomfortable. And the mice on laptops???... They suck![emoji1] I always use an external mouse with my laptops anyway. Yes... my dual 22" monitor setup looks odd compared to what other DJ's use, but I don't really care.[emoji1]

I read about mic issues with the 6000 controllers. They may have been corrected on the 4000.
I have three Denon 4000 controllers. A back up and a ceremony system. Lol don’t ask. I love them. They are all in slim cases. With xlr cables for mics and subs. Very compact and easy plug and play.
I have two sure wireless mics. Not very high end. Maybe 600 ish range.
The 4000 has a high and low cut for 2 mics. My mics sound very clean and clear. I normally run them flat and may cut the bass at a toast or ceremony depending on the mic check.
I’m always concerned about running extra components inline. Right now I just go out xlr into my tops and subs. The sound is very clean at volume.
Did you notice any noise or issues with the new component inline?

As it should be - they (the Denon 4000's) are self-powered controllers with XLR balanced outputs. The real stinkers are USB only powered controllers with unbalanced outputs, especially if you have a long run to the speakers. IMHO, those benefit the most from adding a small quality mixer into the signal path, and they'll usually have better mic pre-amps as well.
I used it last night and it was perfect. No issues at all.
What does this even mean, "self powered controllers"?
