I downloaded a fresh copy of Freestyler, wow, that thing is looking good. I'm really thinking about spending some time with it before putting money down to upgrade myDMX to 4.0. On FS, it looks like it has scenes, is that correct? For movers/scanners, how tedious is it to program searchlight patterns and make color/gobo changes? Also, and this is the important question, can you select multiple scenes to run at the same time? In other words, could I be using my movers while also be running scenes that control my uplights, independently?

It is sooooo easy to program searchlight effects using their built-in Bezier patterns that I almost feel guilty!

Yes to scenes, override buttons, etc., super easy!

I went looking for some youtube videos of Sushi, and after some searching it looks like Sushi and MyDMX are the same software, at least from the videos I saw.

Now if that is the case, why can't we share programs with each other. I can write a scene, send it to someone that also has the same software, and all they need to do is open the scene and modify any steps they to.

I kind of enjoy the programming part.

Yep. I run several scenes at a time. You just have to remember what overrides what when using scenes and the cue buttons.

I remember reading something about myDMX needing to use the Sunlite 2006 profile. I use the DMXKing dongle and had to do some extra work to get it to work.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. Wondering if something's wrong with my Velleman. Enttec Open DMX is less than $100, but it requires a 5pin to 3pin converter dongle, which I hate.
