I missed this announcement from NAMM, but maybe one of our Canadian friends can check it out when it makes L&M rental ... around $650 CAD, so maybe $550 USD

Yorkville

But it leaves the age-old problem. You have a battery-powered speaker but you still have to get power to your wireless mic receiver.
Not for me .. I bought one of these Audio-Technica 1800 (ATW-R1820) series mic sets off eBay and the battery powered receiver (left - shown without the antennae) works with my AT3000 series handhelds and belt-packs. It's also dual channel, so I can have 2 going at the same time.

Didn't Shure come out with a battery operated receiver line up of various different microphones? They do not sell it in stores...not at least around here. If I can order those units, I may purchase a Shure Lav system, and a handheld system for outdoor ceremonies. Would be perfect with my Bose S1 Pro.

Couple those with a Behringer 1002B battery powered mixer and you've got a battery powered system that takes corded and cordless mics .. Behringer Xenyx 1002B Mixer

Have you had any trouble with those ATs? We used one at a venue last year and ran into some drop-out issues. I get spooked at that kinda stuff.
No .. I've used the 3000 series for the past 6+ years with no issue. I've only used the 1800 receiver once though, so not sure how it will do longer term.

The only time I had a dropout was one time a speaker held onto the mic by the bottom portion (which contains the antenna) and then turned his back on the receiver (this was after I told them how to hold it). The combination of his hand around the antenna and the rest of his body blocking the signal caused a dropout for about 5 seconds until he turned around and I was able to flag him to hold the mic normally.

I use senheissers EV112 g3. Battery receivers. Work great.

I'll take a run in to L&M tomorrow see if they have them in. I could use a good excuse to go ;)

You have to go into the menu on AT transmitters and switch them to HIGH power if you need it to go the extra distance. I own three of the 3000 series and really like them. The only thing I don't like is what happens IF the transmitter goes out of range, even when muted and that is they let out HUGE static bursts which really sucks when they can't connect with the receiver! I was doing an outdoor ceremony and the minister, without my knowledge, took the cordless mic across the grass and into the second floor of the venue to go check on the bride which resulted in a lost connection and my running to pull the fader down on my mixer. Ugh...

Mine is considered a "camera" wireless mic system, designed for video use, but it's the same receiver as in the 3000 series and takes the same transmitters.

Sennheiser makes a camera system ... Sennheiser ew 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless EW 112P G4-A1 B&H

Shure too .. Shure FP15 83 H5 FP Bodypack Wireless System with the WL183 Lav Mic 518 542 | Full Compass

Doesn't Shure have a whole line up though. Like I thought they had wireless handheld mics that came with a battery powered receiver. They also had a hand held, and lavaliere mic combo with the battery powered receiver.
