Ok guys thanks for all your advice. I kept the elegant photo's up front because of what I want my site to say. I will be talking to some of the photographers and some of our past brides to see if I can get some of there pro photo's taken. But until then it will be these. I made an area on the site called parties and you can go there and see party pics of people getting there groove on to show people that I can get the party moving.

Also I had to go through the site and make sure that all things looked fine at lower resolutions so that brides and work or what have you could see it fine on a crappy monitor.
So if you want to check it out please do so. I will be adding a little bit but most stuff can wait. I will also be linking a blog for weddings on the front of the interface.
Thats where I will be putting my links to other venders and using some kind of html so that the seach engines can see it better. The site has a bunch of stuff for tags etc etc. Here is the link
This is all I have been doing for about 25 total hours this weekend. I feel it looks good and says what I want it to say. http://209.85.14.114/~tng/

Dave it's perfect

Sorry dave I cant see it being in flash

had something happen the other day and all flash keeps telling me to re-install
which is starting to pee me off

looks like a re-format if this gets any worse
so you may want to allow html also if you want even more clients as I have always said not everyone can see flash

have a nice day

Thanks Dennis. I will be working on an HTML blog that people will be able to access which will tell people about us and allow folks to check there date. The site was the first priority and that will come soon enough. I have a couple of weddings to work on today and then I will get right on that. Hmmm it's labor day so I guess I'm dong the weekend right lol.

Looks pretty good Dave I still think the photos in the splash look more like a photographers site than a djs site I just dont see you doing any dj services in the photos. oh well the rest is clean and looks great

Dave...... it's great....so great that my winter project will be updating my site with a Bludomain site and going from there....I'll have to contact some past brides to see if I can get some photos....

Let me offer a couple of suggestions:

One the Home page, in the Lower part......I'd put "utilizing the revolutionary Bose L1 sound system " ..or something like that...It may pique the readers interest and may lead them to the Bose page......I like the Bose page

2) On the about us page; I think it deserves a photo of you and Kathy.....behind the facade: not only does it "personalize the page, you get to show the Bose and how elegant the Bose it and gives you another selling point. I think as well in you wedding section, you need to touch on that. Besides the multitude of other things you offer, you set up only lends to th elegance.....push that point...That is one of the reasons you bought the bose.

3) As I navigate you site and click from left to right, I click on availability....I'm whisked away to a new page/tab; the music stops...It's like my peaceful journey interrupted. When I click "home" I'm taken back to your old site.....I would put the availability tab at the end, which to me makes sense...They browse your whole site than logically check the availability.....I would also redo that page so that it matches the new site...With the current page..it's so bright; It literally hammers you over the head....compared to the new site....

I understand what you are saying and it will be my goal to get some professional photo's from past clients photographers with there permission. I know these are the exact photo's I used on my previous site which is still up. And the brides loved it.

A DJ on another site made a very astute observation that if you are shooting for a certain type of client you have to look like your shooting for a certain type of client. What I did do was make the area "Party" and people can go there and see that I can get there groove on.

I will change them. But again with these being the exact photo's from my previous site. The brides loved them then, so I'm sure they will be fine with them now till I can get the photo's of the real clients done professionally.

Dave - I think you can use a combination of both; almost telling a story with the photos; the location, ceremony, ring on the finger, the kiss, the processional, then the party.....

Was it hard to do up the site.....I've got my eyes on a template (different than yours). Are you hosting with Bludomain?

Excellent points thank you.

Hmm also good points. And yes I'am they where actually cheaper than my current site 100 dollars per year (Blue Domain) and that way they can do all the stuff I need. It also depends on what you mean by hard. Updating no its not hard work to make it your own there is a little work there.

Dave,
looks awesome.
Just a heads up, there are some things that are capitalized that shouldn't be. Not that I should be the one checking. Mr Durio found plenty on my website.

under "parties", there are some words there that shouldn't be capitalized.

but again, awesome job!!

Cool thanks I'll have wife who is awesome at this stuff go through it.

On the BOSE page I don't think a B&G will care that much about the "hows" of the system.... Keep some of it, but add a "what it will do for you",, how it will enhance their event, make it more personalized......

On your party page I did see a few pics that went by the I think you could add to your front page, I know you are going to try and get more, but one or two of the Bride dancing will go along way...

IMHO

I'm hearing you and they will soon be there. Hmm about the what do you think it will do for you anyone want write something that will be on the page I'm almost burn't for this weekend. I put about 25 hours in on the site this weekend and am working on 2 weddings. (Tired)

thanks Dave

but.... the worst thing is that when I go for system to system and have to access a website that is all flash some systems wont run it at all

just so you know that even if your site is all flash you will miss out on a lot of clients that dont have a computer that is fully using all flash..

just an observation thats why I may have a few things with flash but not the whole site
as I am redoing mine again and wont be all flash at all (wasnt last time)

have fun and get back to work now

Looking good - although I still hate sites that use new methods of scrolling text. And they are inconsistant. (Most pages had the little triangles at the bottom. Two testimonails pages have them on the side.)

Your "Hiring a DJ" (FAQ) page is confusing unless you read the intro. And even if you do, it may still be confusing.
Each should say:
Q: xxx
OneWed.com: xxx
TNG: xxx

You have TWO submit buttons on your contact page?

Do you have permission from Bose to use their logo?
