Since a few folks here have had the good fortune to have a reception gig this month, I thought it'd be a fine time to refresh our collective musical minds.

I want to see YOUR top 5 wedding songs that work for you - 5 of your go-to's for the right crowd, any genre, any year, and any artist - but NO line dances.

Hopefully, we'll see a few nuggets or gems some can add to their arsenal.

Here are mine:

Why Don't We Just Dance - Josh Turner (I did more country themed events than most.)
Shake Rattle and Roll - Big Joe Turner
Boogie Shoes - KC and The Sunshine Band
Crazy - Patsy Cline
Bills - Lunch Money Lewis

What say you?

I don't know if anyone else listens to Joe Bunn and Mike Walter on the PhDJ podcast, but they have done a few really good playlist episodes. They talk through their top 20 for weddings. It's a fun discussion and an easy listen for those that are looking to improve their crates right now.

Adele - Someone like you
I'm not the only one - Sam smith
Highway to hell - AC/DC
WAP - Cardi b ft Megan thee stallion
I love it - Lil pump ft Kanye west

The 2nd one's got to be a Canadian thing ...

The 2nd one's got to be a Canadian thing ...

Very specifically a Cape Breton Island thing possibly Nova Scotia thing. It's done by the Rankin Family it's not unusual to play 3 or more cuts throughout the night from them. Teen dances to nursing homes it's always played. Here's a few excuse the quality they were recorded on a potato I believe ;)

That's because they force your listeners to listen to that 35% Canadian content and there isn't enough top acts to meet it .. :)
