What's missing is what is the DJ sitting upon? I have a collapsible high director's chair. From the front you cannot tell whether I'm sitting on, leaning on it, or even if it's there. I'll always have it with me, however it's only used during cocktail hours and/or twenty course meals.

The chair image is not exactly what I use, but it's a fair representation.

I've had flat feet all of my life. It's okay walking or running, but standing still in one spot for a long period of time just kills me. I usefd yo bring a tall bar stool. Much like Cap's chair, you didn't know it was there. Now I just wear better shoes.

I recently bought this Guitar Stool by Gator Frame works, and just used it at a wedding. I purchased it because of it's easy portability and being light weight. I used it at both weddings this weekend and it was comfy. 27.5" seat height. The padding is thick in the seat. It's 3.5" taller than the 24" cheap folding stools I was using from Wal Mart prior to this so this was a pretty good choice for me. I just have no use for the guitar stand part of it so that part is folded in.

I purchased this DJ Chair a few months ago. I bought it to be a tall chair my son could use when he works on his RC cars in out basement which has a tall work counter. I was also going to use it for DJ events, but I realized it isn't that portable, and has to be put together and torn down at each event. Also, the round seat is 12" which is fine for a kid, but when I sat on it, my butt is hanging off on both sides, LOL. I feel it needs to be a 14" round seat, and could use some thicker padding. I sat on it for 15 minutes, and it was starting to hurt my butt at that point. The foot legs are great on this chair though. It also can be set at 30.5" high so you essentially look like you are standing. Especially for anyone under say 5'8. So this chair stays in the basement for my son's use.

No you didn't have to retire because of that. You could have used a chair or some mats to use for cushion.

Amazing how you know more about me than I do.

NO, I retired because my knees were sore after every event and my entire body was giving me gentle hints. It was time.

Do I miss it? My wife thought I would, but I really don't...really.

Thankfully I have this forum to keep me updated on the latest and greatest as I continue to dip my toes in this goofy pool.

Still use those colored jigsaw 2x2' squares to stand on. One under the table for power strip to keep it from moving, attached to center of 3 pcs of jigsaw. All pcs turned over so only gray side is showing. Been doing that for many, many years.

You said 'cars' .. did you/he get more? ;)

Not yet. He has had me ordered a lot of various parts for him because parts continuously break, so he upgrades everything. Pretty sure we have spent far more on parts at this point than the actual cars. He is waiting for good weather outside so he can paint the two new clear bodies I bought. He wants to upgrade both of his cars to S2 Lipo brushless set ups which is a lot more money. He then wants to get a Arma or LTR Racing Buggy because he wants to get into racing. I think the buggy will be a present for his next birthday.

Brushless models costs more initially but the difference in speed is amazing. Converting a brushed to brushless is a separate and additional cost .. but also usually worth it for the benefit of speed. Brushed has its place - ie: 99% of the crawler market is brushed. Plenty of other vehicles also use brushed motors. You will generally see repair costs increase with brushless - more speed, more stuff breaking.

For batteries, the 2S (7.4v) LiPo is generally safe. Special care does need to be given to using, charging and storing LiPo's - a fully charged LiPo is a fire waiting to happen. I would always choose a hard case LiPo over a soft case LiPo. The higher the 'S' (2S, 3S, etc), the higher the voltage / power, the higher the LiPo danger and generally speaking, the vehicle repair costs.

If you mean spec racing, Arrma is no good for spec racing - they're bashers, not racers. TLR is good, but anything race spec is going to be expensive - and most you have to build (which is a major plus imo). Spec racing uses soft case LiPo's.

@DJ Ricky B - shoot me a message if you're looking at buggies. I'm selling my whole setup. Only about 4 races on it. ;-)

My opinion is this if you look and act professional, do what is important, inform the crowd about the events going on, speak in a good clear tone voice when dancing time comes around 3/4 of the people are Not looking at you. They are watching the bride or groom watching the people on the dance floor or just talking with their friends. I say stand for all the important parts of the show but after that sit if you want ( were is a DJ book saying you must stand )
