Looks neat .. price will be a factor. I like Yamaha .. I've owned mixers, subs and tops .. always sounded good. Hope they're at the DJ Expo (though with availability in September, they may not).

Sold in their stagepass series which should make quick and very portable but not something usable for main speakers
I don't know .. specs are very EV Evolve like.

I thought I read 109db vs the evolve with 127db
Yes .. there are individual spec differences, but collectively it looks similar.

The EV does state 127, the Yamaha is 119 .. but the Yamaha also has a 170 deg horizontal distribution vs the EV's 120, so that probably accounts for the 8db difference. Regardless, I have never ran a system that loud indoors, so they, to me at least, are effectively in the same market.

i had a small set of stagepas for our "puppet" mobile shows ... they were great little speakers with a great mixer set up...

id give these a try i think

I suspect I'd appreciate the larger woofer for increased bass output but still can't settle for less 15s, preferably 18s to deliver dat bottom!

So, wifedj, you like big bottoms? Isn't that a rap song?

"I like big woofers, and I can't deny.
Dem tiny drivers can't comply.
When the music starts and the BASS kicks in,
and the dance party begins
I get bumped,
Wanna pump up dem rumps,
Cuz dey notice when the bass is chump...
" w apologies to Sir M. A. Lot.
