Thanks guys, I'll try that.
My (older) M305 has a very noticeable delay after it's been sitting for a while. Still usable, but an irritation.
Remember, when I DJ, I go for long periods without using my mouse. I actually use my controller, I don't flirt with the girls, and I don't day-dream about rebuilding my rebuilt system!!I have that same M305 mouse in my server room. It’s attached to a KVM switch so I can share it with 3 Windows computers and one Linux computer. Never had a problem with it going to sleep.
Anybody make a wireless mouse without the battery saving sleep mode?
This is not a Device Manager setting, USB port going to sleep, etc. It's the mouse itself, a Logitech.
Might want to check this - while it's not a usb port setting, it very well could be a mouse setting:One of my non-gig laptops had a M185 on it, which I've swapped. It is much better than the comatose M305!

Ive been using it for about a month, and its a nice, just not sure I like how freely the wheel spins.I'm using a Logitech M325 also and have no sleep issues with it.
Already had done that. My two identical Samsung R780 laptops that I use for gigs have both been optimized to death - nothing turns off when they are plugged into AC.Open the Device Manager, click on Mice and other pointing devices. Right click on your mouse and select Properties, click on the Power Management tab. There should an option which reads "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", make sure there is no check in its box
I use a Logitech M585 dual source mouse .. it connects to my desktop via a USB dongle and to my laptop via BT. A switch on top toggles between (or the software can be setup to slide the mouse to a corner and it will switch). It's instantaneous switching to the USB dongle .. takes a second or 2 for the BT switch. With the Logitech software (which I'm not using), you can even cut on one and paste on the other.
I think Flow works with some of their keyboards as well, though the keyboard that came with my mouse just died (less than a year old) so not sure I'm trusting Logitech keyboards these days. Got a nice little mouse/kbd combo from Dell .. love the keyboard, hate the mouse, so sticking with the M585.I think the Logitech software is called “Flow”. Easier to use “Mouse Without Borders” though if both the computers are running Windows. Flow works with Macs and Windows. So does Synergy, and Synergy (and Mouse Without Borders) works with any kind of keyboard and mouse. The Logitech solution requires connecting the mouse to both computers (one with the transceiver, the other with BT). With Mouse Without Borders and Synergy, you only need a physical connection to ONE of the computers. The down side is; if the computer with the physical connection fails, neither mouse works. Of course it’s no big deal to pull the transceiver out and move it to the other PC.[emoji4] I set my Mouse Without Borders up to share both ways, so I can switch the transceiver from one PC to the other and the mouse (and keyboard) is still shared.

Ohh, BT, I like that, I need to look into getting one, I would love to free up the USB port needed for the receiver .I use a Logitech M585 dual source mouse .. it connects to my desktop via a USB dongle and to my laptop via BT. I had not considered a Bluetooth mouse - freeing up a USB port is good, plus my laptops are Bluetooth ready. However, I don't like any latency or lag due to "sleep".I love the Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth mouse. There is a noticeable delay (maybe a second) when it goes to sleep but other than that great mouse.
I'm with you on the latency. Annoying! Have you tried turning on the show cursor when hitting the control key option? That's pretty helpful with dual monitors. I'd be perpetually lost without it.I had not considered a Bluetooth mouse - freeing up a USB port is good, plus my laptops are Bluetooth ready. I don't really see the mouse pointer until it starts to move - most of us don't - that's why we do that idiot hand wiggle movement when we don't see it.
Just turned it on now. I didn't know that was an option. Thank You! Wow, I'm learning a lot about Mice today!!I'm with you on the latency. Annoying! Thanks for pointing that one out too DanI love the Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth mouse. There is a noticeable delay (maybe a second) when it goes to sleep but other than that great mouse.
