I got a couple of mailings about the DJ Expo this year in August in Atlantic City. I would love to go. Not sure if I can afford to go. I went for the first time 2 summer's ago and ran out of money. I had to get help to get back home.

I picked a Motel 8 to stay in. It was rinky dink. The price was right but I would never stay there again. I wouldn't stay there if it was free!!!!!!!!!!

Just trying to see if I can plan properly this time so I can go. Please be kind it was my first time ever attending the DJ Expo. After this event in the park I will look into planning to go. I know the deadline to get the discounts is June 10th. That's after my birthday which is Sunday June 2nd.

Maybe if you stop wasting money on useless gear you could afford to go

You're only 100 miles away get there man. Take the bus save yourself some money and stay at the hotel it's cheap if it's clean and safe who cares if you're doing the show right you'll only be sleeping there anyway

I won't be there this year since I'll be on vacation (finally), but a bit of advice for those of you that do this yearly, and always spend money on hotels. If you just sign up for a players card and gamble a little at the slots (not more than $100-$200) and sign up for a players card, you usually get rewarded with free nights during the week at the casino. I've been going now for close to 10 years and never once paid for a hotel room. Who knows you may even win a little bit. I still get offers from casinos I havent been to in years.

... Are you serious with this? Did this really happen to you?

I'll just leave this here...... (you can start from the beginning of the thread, if you have time to kill....)

Good to see nothing has changed.... the last thing Mix needs right now is a trip to Expo... the June oarty is going to bankrupt him anyway

When people pay you to come to your party, why not? ;)

I got to figure out how to do that I'll never play a wedding again just all parties for me no stress and people give me money ;)

But then you have to go to everyone else's party and blow it all ...

I have friends that are promoters and they have an event on or around their birthday. People pay to come to the event. So they kill 2 birds with one stone.

It's REALLY hard to kill just 1 bird with a stone ... and putting on an event around your birthday, that you expect your friends and family to PAY to attend, is less "promoter" and more "grifter".
