We really prefer high school events, but the almighty dollar is nicer on the wedding. That's pretty low for us for a HS.

Okay, I have to be nosey. Just what do you guys typically get for a HS event? I can't imagine hauling and setting up that MOUNTAIN of gear for cheap $$$$.

Our base is $2800 plus transportation. Our average HS contract is usually around $3400-3700

(we do have a smaller system thatis $1800 plus transp.--we do for smaller schools like the ones with 50 or 75 couples)

I'll take "B" the Farm Ceremony and Reception.
The 60th Anniversary would be second choice.

The big, in town wedding seems more stressful for a variety of reasons,
I'm getting "outdated" when it comes to promos and school dances...
and I am just not interested in going back to a bar scene.

This is along the lines of how my older brother answered. He would rather take rural barn wedding for $1,000 over driving into downtown D.C. deal with a night mare load in, have to rely on assistants, and have the stress of that much involved for the additional money. He is fine with earning $1,000 to do a rural barn wedding as well.. He has driven farther for less money on events he has booked himself over the years, so a 75 mile drive each way to him for 1K isn't bad. He also mentioned the 60th birthday party being his 2nd choice. Myself, I hate "night mare load ins" as well, so even though, it's more than double the money, I would bethinking hard on passing up that nice pay day to do the easier job. ...Now that I work full time during the week, I can be more selective about what jobs I take. Before when I was just deejaying, I would obviously pick the highest paying job,and work the down town event. ..I would probably still pick that job now as well, but I would certainly give it a lot of thought. ..10 years from now, I would probably pick the easier job over the downtown awful load in job unless I really needed that big pay day at that point

I'm with Mike and B or A. I'm not interested in a 600 kid prom and while the $$s would be nice for a high end wedding, having done just "1", I'm probably not the first choice. I've done a number of 60th Bday parties, so no issue, and would be OK doing another casual wedding. I have no desire for a bar gig at $150 .. been there, done that.

B....way out in front. This is easiest and what I prefer doing.....second is D the high school Prom.

Any of the others, only if I had no other choice.
