Yeah, $5000 - if I had absolutely nothing else going on in my life for that whole week.$5000 if I’m driving
Otherwise, why would I leave an area where I could do 3 events at $1800+ and be home to sleep in my own bed?

Sounds like your partner without a license and a way to get there already gave them a price. Still do not understand why you have a partner in a business that doesn't exist.Which I would need all the details for the event before I would quote a price.
Wel that’s only way I take it... when I have nothing else for the weekend. Also I’d rather prepare for one event than 3. And I make it a trip too, go there a couple of days earlier, head to the beach, etc. I’ve enjoyed it the last 3 times I’ve done it.Yeah, $5000 - if I had absolutely nothing else going on in my life for that whole week.

...that won’t make me very profitable if that’s all I played or had knowledge in.
It does exist and I knew you were going to chime in after awhile. I wish we could meet up and battle so I could kick your azz and you leave me alone! Let me say this again. My partner just came up with a price in his mind that would work for us and hasn't talked to the potential client yet or at least every since yesterday. He does such things without getting details of the type of event it is and so on. Me I like to get as much details as I can before even considering doing the event. After that I can give them a price quote.Sounds like your partner without a license and a way to get there already gave them a price. Would you be driving under the primary VIN number, or the one one the door?First nobody said I was going anywhere yet and if I go it will be my van.
Not sure what you want to battle about. I mean we could battle with the amount of Gigs I have this year compared to yours. We can battle over how much I get per gig compared to yours. We can battle about many things. We can have a battle mixing country music. I think that sounds like a great battle. let me know when you are ready. It does exist and I knew you were going to chime in after awhile. I apologize for my earlier post about battling you. I don't know you, never seen a picture of you or something you have done. So I don't know how good or bad you are as a DJ.Not sure what you want to battle about. I mean we could battle with the amount of Gigs I have this year compared to yours. Mix you set yourself up for this stuff. You come on here and post about a gig that you may get if the person calls your partner back and gives him details, yet the partner already gave them a ridiculously low price to do a job. I mean if it wasn't for the people on this forum telling you what they would charge and why, you would have no idea what factors go in to coming up with a price for a job 900 miles away. Even better since you would be doing the driving and the wear and tear on your van how would you divide them money between the two of you and I am sure the partners girlfriend will be tagging along.
Nothing you have ever posted on these boards have shown us you doing anything as a legitimate business. Just because you have a business name does not mean you have and run a business. Honestly you were good for a good laugh for many years but now I just feel sorry for you.
Why wouldn't your partner just have them fly him down, rent a system from a local dj, and put him up in a hotel. Leave you at home, no driving, no gas, and no wear and tear, and back to NJ a lot quicker.
Is would only do that if the client was a close relative.Wel that’s only way I take it... when I have nothing else for the weekend. Also I’d rather prepare for one event than 3. It’s perspective... what are the chances of me profiting well over $5k in a weekend in January in the northeast. I’d need two weddings to do that... but in January I’ll be lucky to book one in most weekends. Is would only do that if the client was a close relative.
Events well outside of our ideal service area are a siphon.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the sucking sound as it dries up local referrals.
Only 2 times I remember. Once I mistakenly plugged the wrong cord in a controller and I was playing in a club when one of my Pioneer CDJ 800's stopped working.Mixy, Have you had issues with your equipment?
