What will this mean for DJ's?

It means it'll cost more for music going forward ..

Yep... the pendulum swung again. During the 80’s and 90’s the Music industry really stuck it to the consumers. Then... digital copies caused the bottom to drop out. Now, it’s swingin’ back the other way. Would be nice if everyone could just meet in the middle... a fair price charged, and a fair price paid... Kinda like it was 35-40 years ago.[emoji4]

Except the leeches will ALWAYS figure out a new way NOT to pay, while everyone else pays MORE to compensate.
That defeated mind set is a major component in the reason that the leeches "get away" with it...no consequence.

And your mindset is why we keep paying more and more to make the rich richer

Sad...but you keep on believing that the way to success is to hinder or dissuade it for others.

You're a pretty smart guy Rocky maybe you can explain how you and I and others here paying more will keep illegitimate operators from not paying or even slow it down

Actually, isn't this good news for us LEGIT DJs?

The person that's dancing to your music doesn't care of you're "legit" or not (whatever that means). It's neither good news nor bad news, but when the costs of your streaming subscriptions go up, this will be the reason why.

It's meant to be good for artists and songwriters who have been getting ripped off from digital streaming. Maybe it will give them incentive to write and perform better songs. IMO we've been getting ripped off - because in keeping up with the latest releases, we end up with a large percentage of junk songs.
