Weddings What shoes do you wear to DJ in?

Black Rockports for non-wedding; patent leather (Nunn-Bush) w/ gel inserts. Comfortable! Not care too much for the square toe, but I overlook it.

Attire: For Weddings--Tux Shirt w/matching vest & bowtie, and black pants and shoes (shown above). If it's a super formal ( wear my complete tux with matching vest/bowtie)
Non-formal--shirt with logo and black pants or decent dress shorts (it's hot here in Florida), but I try not to do many outdoor events because of my age. If it's an Anniversary party, I usually wear sport coat and tie.

My "actual" dress shoes are Allen Edmonds. I've got 3 pairs of them, and they're quite comfy. But I'm not willing to DJ in $300 shoes. I scuff them up badly over time. The pair I've been wearing are Ecco. I thought they had a reputation for making comfortable shoes, but it's probably the worst pair of dress shoes I've ever owned.
Yeah since we're going to go that route... I wear designer shoes as well, but change in them just before the reception starts and right after the reception ends. Im setting up and breaking down in sneakers. I typically work in indoor environments and have never had an issue. Many of my shoes are bagged during travel so they dont get ruined. One of my friends wears $1500 tom fords to his events and he does the same. But again, most of our events are indoors on carpet and wood or marble dancefloors. Those rare outdoor events I wear my cheapest pair of the collection in case they get dirt or whatever on them. I can't tell what kind of places you're at, but perhaps a process like that will work best so you can wear nice shoes and be in comfort without damaging them.

And yet we complain when clients go the cheap route...

Say what you want about Wal Mart. Those Sun Comfort "Athletic" Insoles feel nice, and last a number of months. I prefer them to Dr. Scholls Gel Inserts.

Must be nice! :djsmug:

Of my last 4 weddings, I've been on concrete floors twice, the stone patio at DAR (the giant columns), and hard wood. I'll take that cushy ballroom stuff any day!

Lol yeah you def don’t have it easy. I know you can sometimes find those on sale for around $200... especially with the holidays around the corner they may even drop lower. I don’t know if you want spend that much but at least you’ll be comfortable.

I have a pair of BROWN shoes just like my black ones.[emoji4] I wear them at more casual events when I'm wearing Khakis... I don't like the look of black shoes with Khakis.[emoji1]

To me, the number one rule is comfort.
Style is a distant 2nd.

Most of my shoes are dress black but very comfortable.

Josef seibel shoes. About $160 a pair, but worth the price

I wear Rockports :djsmug:... this is one of them...

I wore all black sneakers for years and no one noticed.
Of course, they were no-name sneaks with no logos, and looked like shoes.
Then I found a pair of dress shoes that LOOKED like these Rockports.
They are as comfortable as my sneakers, I can beat them up loading and unloading gear, and they are cheap to replace.
I have never owned a pair of true dress shoes.
I am not the "styling" kid of guy....and when you work in radio...dressing up is not a requirement.
