Honestly I'm making this thread because I'm in the hospital and can't sleep right now. My favorite event I did of all times was being the DJ at my oldest niece's wedding. The wedding was at Snuffy's. I told my niece if she got anybody else to do it I was going to ruin her wedding. I was going to flip over the tables and chairs. The cake was going on the floor.

She had nobody else in mind to do it. It was my favorite event because it was my niece getting married. My mother and father were there. My mother's boyfriend was there and the groom's grandmother was there as well. The groom's mother couldn't be there because she died from Cancer. I paid for 4 people to be there. My best friend, his wife and daughter. The one that's getting married. Along with my best friend in recovery.

The event was through the roof! I will never forget that event. Since then my father, my mother's boyfriend, the groom's grandmother and groom have gone on to glory. This event took place when were using CD's. Nobody was using computers back then. I might have some pictures somewhere. I had 63 pictures in a camera I had at the time. I got robbed one night coming in the building I lived in. One of the things they took was the camera and the pictures were on the card in the camera. That was my prize possession of all times.

I've done so many events (not all DJ) that I simply can't pick ONE.
The production company and the radio station have given me the chance to do so many things
that I would never would have done otherwise.

I think the one "almost" event that would have been spectacular, was the one I invited Mix to dinner at and he cancelled out.

There isn't one event that's my all time favorite.

I truly enjoy DJing weddings. I find people very appreciative

Well, it’s been a lot of years and pretty difficult to pick just one. But my favorite type of event is always my Video Dance Parties. One that really stands out was the Video Dance Party we did in 2000 down in Ocean City MD for the college association I belong to. The association has annual conferences with showcases where the college student go to see the latest entertainment. We were doing the Mid Atlantic region so there are colleges from, MD, DC, DE, NJ, NY & PA with 1200+ students, agents & other performers. I was relatively new to association and many of the other companies I beat out for the event were like who the hell is this company. This was also the year I incorporated the Martin intelligent lighting system with video system & audio system. So the location was in a very large atrium of the hotel with a pool, jacuzzis, balconies of rooms facing in and a foam pit. Well, there were 500+ people dancing on the dance floor, in the foam pit, pool, jacuzzi and on the balconies of their room. By the end of the party there was foam in the pool, in the indoor and outdoor jacuzzis. A truly off the hook event which made it possible to start our regional touring performing at colleges throughout the Northeast. We didn’t take too many pictures and I’m still looking for the video from back then. I did have one shot of what the whole room look like before we set up for the eventEC356F71-9722-4118-8D15-F50B0E83C456.jpeg

For 15 years I was the side stage act between bands at a large country music festival 7000 plus people is a nice size crowd
Nice size crowd. That's throw the roof. I wonder why you stopped doing it after 15 years?

Sorry that happened. I won't ask why they stopped having the event. That's just a nice run for you.
It’s a pretty simple explanation, the cost of entertainment simply became to high to run the event with the mission the had in mind to create an affordable 3 day non profit country music festival all proceeds were dontated to local charities, when you hire 15 - 17 national acts the cost of talent and staging becomes overwhelming the park it was held in holds roughly 12,000, they reached a point where they couldn’t afford to keep going because the cost of entertainment became so high, a few of the performer did make sizable donations over the years, Neal McCoy donated $10,000 when he found out is was a charity event, and the two groups that performed after him that day followed suit, Montgomery Gentry and Alabama. It was kinda of a unique situation this festival was in a town of about 5000 people and many of the entertainers would stop by the local bars after the shows and enjoy the area, no one mobbed them a few even took the stage with the local bands, I saw Montgomery Gentry do a pretty impressive 80’s rock set at the local bowling alley one night

I didn't need you explain as I get beat up for asking such questions. I believe this year will be number 14 for the Lincoln Park Festival. They have it on the last weekend in July. Thousands of people come there that weekend. Friday is Gospel day, Saturday is House Music and Sunday is Hip Hop and R and B. My thing is Saturday. The fun thing for me is people that know me sometimes ask me if I'm playing? I tell them I'm not that famous.

They were talking about doing away with it all together for obvious reasons. They have plenty of vendors out there who obviously pay to be out there. Also Prudential, Beth Israel Medical Center and others donate money to the event.

It's basically a friendly event. The one thing I hate is you can smell plenty of marijuana being smoked. I guess the police orders are if they aren't causing trouble then let them smoke.

ive had the privilege of opening for or spinning during breaks for some fun acts in the 90s... Hootie and the blowfish... 2 live crew ... Tony Yayo from G Unit.. Clutch and a few others... nice to feel the energy off of a large crowd like that...even if they arent there to see you...you can have some fun with them...

I once did a sorority party on a giant sternwheeler going down the river.... that was wild...

... Neal McCoy donated $10,000 when he found out is was a charity event ...
IMO, Neal should get Entertainer Of The Year, every year. This guy is a class act in every sense and brings it all to every performance. He is also a patriot and is in full support of the US military (he's done plenty of USO tours) and you can watch his Pledge Of Allegiance every morning on Facebook. Blake Shelton also asked Neal to play at his wedding.
