That's nice but the price is through the roof. You can get one like the one I have for $500 and add lights.

It is very cool, but that’s a lotta BRIGHT! I don’t do many events where something that, uh... flamboyant would be appropriate.[emoji1] The price is not bad for what it is, but you’d need to get some use out of it to make it worthwhile.[emoji4]

I admit, it is pretty flamboyant but for some reason, I just like it. I'm looking a couple of years down the road and could envision perm-mounting this into a raised, corner DJ stage for my venue (if it ever happens). There are some youtube vids that look good. Kind of a low-res video screen:

That is similiar to the NovaPro LED Facade that IDJNOW sells that cost $1,999.99.

I think it would be cool for a night club as in a stationary facade in front of a DJ booth. BUT, for a Wedding DJ, I think some brides will not want that much flashiness. I also don't brides/grooms paying an up charge for it either.

If YOU Want it for yourself, and really like the look for your own image, AND believe it's worth the money, then go for it. However, if you are buying it because you think it will help you earn more money, or think you can upcharge for it as a add on, then think real hard. I personally do not see any ROI in these types of facades

I wouldn't do it for mobile work, especially weddings. If, however, I put it as a perm install into my own venue, then it likely holds some value for marketing purposes. I'm really thinking that if/when I get a place built, I'm going to have several large-screen TVs mounted, all around the room. Man, it would be killer to incorporate "Love Story" videos as part of the Grand Entrance. Not to mention, having the visuals throughout the night.

I wonder if these types of facades will ever come down in price. It seems that some DJ related products just seem to stay a set price for a long time until they are either not available any longer, or are only sold by a handful of retailers, and while still available, hardly any were purchased by people.

One thing that comes to mind is the Emulator. It's been around since 2010 now. They have made it a bit more compact, but the pricing has been relatively the same for the past 8 years.

You would figure after 8 years, the price would have dropped a good bit more on it. I am thinking it's such a niche product, and the manufacturer might not be interested in mass production, so they kept the price the same, and don't care if it sells well or not.

...It's a product I have not seen ANY DJs using outsid a few videos online. Probably less than 150 units have been sold over the years.

No one uses it because it's no different than using a touch screen laptop .. and no one DJs strictly on them either. You get no feedback from the controls .. just a gimmick.

It's basically trying to look "Futuristic" and show casing something different. To someone that has not seen something like that before, it is real cool to watch for about 15 minutes...Then it fade's away. ...

One could easily imitate it for far cheaper. Basically, buy a 27 or 29 inch touch screeen computer. You would not have the see through effect, but basically the same thing for less than 15% of the price.

I think the problem is the touch-screen stuff does not really work so well with DJ software. You need to have a multi-touch screen so you can use both hands at the same time. Then you have to really watch where you’re putting your hands, because accidentally tapping the screen in the wrong place can have some unwanted consequences. There’s just so much going on on a controller screen. I know when using DJay Pro on my tablet, it just doesn’t work all that great. Controls are vague and slow to respond, and you have to be so precise in where you touch. Granted, my tablet is 10”, not 27”, but I don’t think a larger screen would resolve all the issues. I could not really see myself using the tablet for any serious mixing, which is why I got the WeGO... real knobs and sliders you can feel. I realized I don’t look at my controller as much as I operate more by feel, glancing down only occasionally.

I have a 23” Dell touch screen computer I could use, but have no desire to do so at this point. At 23”, the screen is about the same size as the top of my Denon MC6000 MK2. But not having that ability to feel the controls is a big drawback for me.

I guess it looks cool to some .. but, yes, unless you need to see it through the back, you can do the same with a large touchscreen monitor set into something and yes, you have all those touch screen issues. That unit could also look weird if there was much smoke in the room as it's just a projector underneath projecting on that transparent surface.

To Rick's OP, I think the facade could be cool for teen events or even adult non-formal parties. Could probably do similar for less with a 60-65" TV hung in front of a facade. Not sure I'd need the graphics wrapping around the sides, but it does look cool.

i could see having it set to a stationary color at weddings to match uplights and maybe letting it loose for the dance portion... but it has a bit of cheese factor.. i dont know...im torn... i could definitely see it being a nice addition for standard parties...

What about the Dragon front boards? They make some very nice ones. Just that they aren't cheap either.

That facade is very nice. What about looking at it as a nice addition to your setup? That can help with the job you do because it's not something that is something people see regularly. I say you shouldn't look at it as an added charge to clients. Just offer it as part of your service so people see a good clean setup.

Sorry, but why would someone buy a fascade to be hidden behind a table when you can have a DJ stand/table which is better, 9/10 ways.

Vision DJ Equipment | For the Professional - (http://visiondjdesigns.com)
Those are very nice. My thing is it depends on the equipment used as to if you use a facade or what you suggest. Some of it might have to do with price as well. Depending on how much you have to spend will determine what you buy. I have a simple black facade I use. Along with a facade that you put lights behind it for an effect.

I am not sure I follow you. The DJ tables can be customized in all ways so that it fits YOUR equipment. If you are a DJ, you can use those custom tables to fit what you need-EXACTLY!

IMO, A facade is something totally different, and it covers a clean and efficient setup. That's the point I am making. It's just my opinion though.

They both are not cheap, but that is not the point.
