I use the one I have because it's a decent camera for me to use. Not the best camera on the market but it's good enough for me to use since I'm a DJ and not a photographer. Mine is a T3i. I know I've taken a beating for not upgrading to a different camera. If I was a photographer getting paid to take pictures I could understand it. I have been at events that I wasn't the DJ and some people think because of the camera I use I'm a photographer. LOL. I know I could use my phone but I like using the camera.

I've been using a Canon 70D and a Hero Black 6, but I'm moving up shortly to a Canon M6 Mk II which will replace both. Fortunately, they make an ES adapter which will allow me to use the six lenses I have for the 70D.

If you're interested in the Canon 70D (body only) with 4 batteries, chargers, and battery grip, let me know. Your T3i lenses will work great with the 70D. Pictures can be provided if desired. The camera is in near showroom condition. It's how I keep all my "stuff".

The best camera is the one you have with you. For me, it's an iPhone 12 Pro.

The T3i is a perfectly fine camera - I have one in one of my Photobooths. Based on the photos you post here, it's probably too much camera for you to handle.

i used to use DSLRs, canon EOS 7D was my last DSLR but my peripheral neuropathy has goten to the point i cant hold even slightly weighty cameras anymore so i bought a motorola edge pro 20 phone on sim free, the camera is fantastic-being non verbal id never had a phone up until this point,so i dont use the phone side of it-i dont even have credit on it, i just message my family threw whatsapp.
my artwork has been in a few major exhibitions as i atend a profesional art studio for people with learning disability,im hoping to offer my DJ services to them next year as they do a DJ event every so often, theres another proper club night im going to speak to about DJing for them to.

I have a Nikon D7200. I use that I use when I'm a backup photographer at weddings, and for pretty much anything in life I want good photos of. I don't usually take it with me when DJ'ing because of it's size and weight. My phone seems to do just fine for those shots. If I was doing something really special, I'd bring the big camera (big to me, not saying it's the biggest baddest camera around, lol) along maybe.

I'm not one, at least yet, to take an action camera and film the entire event. I know some folks do it, but to me it just seems like an extra hassle. If you do it here and there to get current media for your website, ads, etc, that makes sense to me, but I think some people just do it to say they do it... or because they see other people do it. LOL.

one of my mates, amy (we go to the same supported art studio for people of all age with any level of intelectual disability) is a fantastic wedding photographer outside of the studio, very creative with angles and positioning plus post shooting in photoshop or lightroom if needed-it just struck me she uses exactly the same DSLR as you and she was always telling me nikon make better DSLRs and lenses (i used all canons)-i kept telling her to take it further and do it as a job like you have but she thinks she coudnt do it as so many people have told her so.

my parents/myself were told similar things but people with downs syndrome have traditionaly been treated as if they really cant do anything, amy is proof of that,as is the worlds most famous, intelectualy disabled artist (sadly passed on now) judith scott.

my dad has a nikon bridge camera (half way between DSLR and digital camera) ,it still does the job really well and its years old.
one ofthe anoying things with DSLRs is as you get better at shooting and get better cameras under the same brand, they can be a lot heavier than the older model.
i looked at getting a canon 5D which turned out to weigh almost as much as my oldie canon 7D MK1,it doesnt look like theres a DSLR without the chonk, lol.

Canon and Nikon both make excellent cameras. My mentor, who was the owner operator of his own wedding photography business suggested Nikon to me so that's what I went with. I can say, it's much more the person behind the camera than the camera itself. If you have the eye for a great shot, you can be an amazing photographer and get some amazing shots. The camera is a tool and there are always more than one way to skin a cat. :) I've seen some folks who were diagnosed with developmental disabilities do some amazing things. If you look at many of the true "artists" (in whatever their field - writing, music, art, etc..) in history, many of them were described as being a little "outside the normal" behavior/developmental area. Never judge a book by it's cover. ;-)
